Sept 2008 K1 VSC filers

One of the posts yesterday mentioned that VSC has amended their processing times for K-1 to 6 months. The website basically said to contact them if you are outside that time frame. Being over 6 months now, I did just that.

Got an automated message to say exactly what they said after case processing had resumed following the RFE. You'll hear from us within 60 days. And according to the message, their customer services stuff doesn't know any more that that so don't bother phoning again. Hah! 8am EST, I'll be on the phone again. We are still 3 weeks short of our 60 days so the congressman doesn't want to get involved yet. Jande, congressional help seem to be iffy, depending on your congressman/woman. I can tell you that ours could not be less interested.

Because we had a RFE, this shift in processing times window is unlikely to help us, but all of you without RFE and past 6 months approval time frame should take advantage of it and keep phoning until you hear some news. (Most likely they'll change their approval times to May again but it's worth a shot).

Good luck everybody.

I really hope you can get through to someone today. Hopefully not everyone in VSC has gone out for a pint of green beer. Happy St Patties Day!

:)

I tried number of times and all I can get is some automated message. There doesn't seem to be an option to lead you to a live person... So frustrating! Or maybe it's just me being thick  .

I can't lose anything so I'll have to persist.

It seems to me at no point in the process can they be efficient and delays can occur for no apparent reason...at least, no reason they will let on about. Its no consolation to you Tanya, but I am now stuck at the embassy, they have had my case since the 27th of february and so far have not updated the system or sent anything to me. I have phoned DOS and the rip off embassy line every day, emailed them last week (never got a reply) and my application seems to have come to a stand-still again. I understand your frustration at seeing all the September filers having got their NOA2, now I feel the same frustration as I see all the London embassy filers getting their packet 3, even those who arrived in London after mine.....honestly, how much longer can they drag this out for :crying:

Kirsten, I'm so sorry. Just when you think you are almost done with waiting and the last part of the process should run a lot faster, they manage to mess it up again. Keep pestering them and emailing them every day, whatever it takes. Honestly, enough is enough. There are no holidays or elections of any kind right now so they have no excuse whatsoever!

Have you thought of just downloading all the docs and sending it off (as packet 3) since you already have LND number? You have to download the checklist anyway so just indicate as early interview as possible. Somebody told me to ask for cancellation date if available (and if you can actually swing it but being in London, I suppose wouldn't be all that difficult). Apparently they got the interview the next day! Good luck. Enough with this waiting. Let's see at least one of us get that blasted visa!!!

One August filer got approved yesterday (thank G-d for that) and that's given me some hope since we our cases resumed processing on the same day after the RFE. With any luck, this may be my week.

Yep, I have the case number, I got that as soon as it reached NVC and London have the electronic copy of the case but they do nothing until they log the hardcopy, thats when they send packet 3. The embassy told me to wait until I receive packet 3 or at least know they have logged it onto their system before sending the forms. I have completed them all and they are ready to go. I have no choice but to sit and wait....I guess I should be used to it by now huh?!

Fingers crossed today is your day!!

I don't think you ever get used to waiting... it just gets more tedious with time.

So have the NVC sent your file yet or it's just London taking their sweet time in logging the file in?

NVC sent the file on the 26th Feb, it arrived on the 2nd of March according to the DHL info. The DOS says they received the electronic copy on the 27th, but so far nobody has logged the hardcopy onto the system. All I get is 'London get so many thousands of files, it can take 6 months or more'!!!!!

WHAT?!! The system works for the rest of the year just fine but it can take up to 6 months to get it logged in in March?! Yeah, right!

I really didn't think they could come up with yet another unbelievable excuse.

Hopefully, somebody will pull their finger out soon and do some work for a change and you'll get logged in with packet 3 on the way.

Good luck.

Well, enough about me and my moans, lets hope VSC pull their finger out and approve you soon.....they really are taking the p*** now, there can be no justifiable reason to keep you waiting this long after receiving the RFE info back.....arrrrgh, they drive you mad these people :girlwerewolf2xn:

Well, I’m sort of hoping that the approval is just around a corner but am not holding my breath that there will be any change in our online status any time soon. After all, they still have 2.5 weeks to go till the 60 days after the RFE expires.

The only consolation I'm finding so far is that, unfortunately, there are people out there who have been waiting a lot longer than we have. I don't feel so alone. Wish I didn't have to be in this waiting game but.... Wouldn't have been if people were doing their jobs right. :innocent:

But thanks to VSC my jewellery making is improving with each passing day and people seem to like it enough to buy it. And since I enjoy it as well… :)

It occurred to me yesterday that if we don’t get approved in couple of months, I’ll need to buy all new summer clothes since I shipped all my summer stuff to Florida last year. We thought this would be my last winter here but at this rate, who knows?!

Nadya, you always manage to brighten my day. You are so funny. :D. Kirsten has been kind enough to keep me company since everybody else deserted this stranded ship ;). Otherwise, it would be just my blog :)... talking to myself as usual... :)

My medelin, so sorry you are stuck here still. Another September filer got approved yesterday so maybe one of these days our turn will come. Hope you get approved sooner rather than later though.

I have to laugh when I read posts from people saying "I got my NOA1 in November and I'm still waiting for my NOA2". Wow! Just imagine! You waited that long . Maybe it's a good thing I find it entertaining or maybe it shows the current state of my mind (all warped from all this waiting...) ;).

Good luck everybody for approval at least this month if not this week.
