Something that some people do not know when contacting their congressman/woman or senator.

You need to authorize the congressman to act on your behalf, by signing some kind of privacy authorization form. It is nothing fancy, you can type one up yourself. But in it, you state that you authorize "John Doe" and his staff to act on your behalf. SIgn it.. and you MAIL it to the congressman.

If you e-mail or call them on the phone, there is very little they can do to help you, since they are not authorized to call the USCIS on your behalf and inquiry about your case or take any other action on your case.

So, the end result is, it is better to actually write your letter and an authorization document and mail it to the senator congressman's office. Maybe make a phone call a week later to verify they received your letter and take it from there.

Nick

How interesting! Thanks for that Nick. But are they not allowed to say that they need an authorisation to act on your behalf in the email? How is one supposed to find that out? Thank goodness for VJ and some very helpful people here :)

Wow......looks like there was no approvals today, is not over yet but this is discouraging, another day that goes to waste, frustration is really taking over now.....again trying to have patience....

I really feel for you Luish. I cannot imagine how hard it must be for you to go through this waiting hell not once but TWICE!!! You have more stamina, nerves and patience than I.

Hope you get your NOA2 really soon. And hopefully this time you'll get married before some other emergency pops up ;).

As for me, I'm thinking, if we are lucky, it might take VSC a month after they received the RFE before the approval. If that's the case, we'll be joining 6+ month club... Oh, I'm so annoyed.... If we are unlucky, hmmm, approval time will happen some time this year... But they can't ignore us forever...

BTW, my baby emailed his congressmen yesterday and somebody from his office replied almost instantly. Well, for us, it was the waste of words and time. Basically, they said what we already know that we need to get married before 90 days expires and all the c**p with AOS procedures and removing of conditions. Then as by the way comment, they said if we were not yet approved, there is no expedite! I was so cross when I read that. They didn't even bother to read the email properly otherwise they wouldn't have gone on for couple of paragraphs about us already having a visa. They obviously could not be bothered to do any work. Guess who we won't be voting for... I'm absolutely furious! :ranting: It's staggering to find so many incompetent people working for the government! I suppose nobody else would employ them without a brain transplant!!! :diablo:

Would be nice if the VSC could squeeze at least couple of August and September files by the end of today... Or is that asking to much?

I just received a letter from the governor's office and it was somenthing that I was not expecting, they said that the governor's ability tointervene is limited and that I should contact the State department and blah blah blah, it's really very fustrating , I also just finished talking with my girl and she is also desperate over there, if we don't get anything today ,we are talking about a May interview ,and tobe honest that's really a long time to wait, if by any chance I'll get something today I can luckily get an April interview, but ufffff, who knows....I'll keep every one inform... I also feel for you, I've noticed you're also a Sept filer, and it's almost 6 mos for you... this waiting is too much.....lets hope to get something today.....

GOOD LUCK

LUISH

I know it sounds not good, but when we didn't know about VJ, I was a member one forum too, it's in Russian and I also asked how long does it take to prove a petition? I was said "it's 4-8 months. It's long, but you can do nothing with it, just wait" And I really thought that our case could be approved closer April. So, guys, 4-8 months are time, you have to be more patient and wait for you day.. right now it can happen every day.. I DO want you get all approvals right now.. and I can't understand Vermont why it has started reviewing October filers..

Try to find your congressmen's website. They should have a website that explains the procedure for receiving the immigration assistance. You can usually print the consent form from there and fax it their office or email it. Then you can follow up with the phone call. It may take some follow up work depending on your congressmen. I contacted the state senator and didn't receive much assistance, but my congressmen was very helpful and seemed to move things along, even if it was 5 months from NOA1 to NOA2. Luck of the draw I guess like everything else. Good luck!!!! We feel your pain.

Found the congressman’s website but apart of the name of the person dealing with immigration issues and office address details, that was it. No mention of any consent form or procedures to contact them at all. :( I'll fax something to them tomorrow and hope for the best. At this stage, it really can't hurt to try... The worst that could happen is that nothing happens. So what’s new? :P

Joe and Nadya, so sorry to here you are stuck in the NVC black hole. Really hope you get out of there soon.

Amber & Dima, no news I assume? :(

Let's hope next week will find all of us in better spirits and with lot more approvals :).
