hmmmm now this conversation is getting interesting....

I didn't say I am a socialist, on the contrary.... I do have to agreee that socialism eventually will embrace the US.... It's in history, it's in the books for anyone to see that capitalism doesn't survive for more than 200 years at a time...It has happened to many countries and I believe it will happen to the US as well.

Socialism, nah...it won't work.....Take Che Guevara for instance... an Idealist who has accomplished the libertation of Cuba. and now what ?!?

But then again, I have been blamed for being a dreamer before...

P.s.: I have always enjoyed debating politics....

Joe :bonk:

I am only a socialist because I am tired of the government taking my money and giving me nothing in return.

I would ideally like to see a dissolution of the current USA federal government, replaced by a simplier form of federal government. One that only serves as a voice in the global scene to represent the union of states, to meditate problems and disputes between states in matters of commerce and trade, and to raise a standing military in times of war.

The current federal government is an abomination.

Why does the USA needs to be a "voice in the global scene" anyway ?

Why does the USA needs to be a "voice in the global scene" anyway ?

Countries communicate all the time with one another.

When I say, a 'voice in the global scene' I do not imply the USA should be the world police. Quite opposite. I am a firm isolationist, when it comes to foreign policy. No need to entangle ourselves with the problems of the world. Our only alliances should be only with countries for purposes of trade and commerce.

Instead, when I say a voice in the global scene, what I mean is, who would go to the G-7 Summit? A rep. from every single state in the union of the USA? No. A rep. from the USA would attend the G-7 Summit.

The federal government should represent the Union of the United States, on the world stage.. to discuss politics, money ect.

Yea, I am not to pleased about any of this. Which is why I am going to get an early start on being pro-active with immigration. I have scheduled a infopass appointment this friday. I am also going to be mailing out letters to my senators next week. By the time the letters reach my senators office, my 180th day should be upon me.

Actually, she is okay. I just finished visiting her in january for 3 weeks. I came back on the 25th. She is actually quite calm and happy now, because we had a religious ceremony at the mosque. In her eyes and the eys of her family, I am her real bonafide husband... which sets her mind at ease.

Actually if you need proof that your case is not being processed as it should have been (in a timely matter), I'd be more than glad to give them my case number to you (since we were approved earlier than you), so they can see it and speed their asses up.... just let me know.

Stink? Why?

To her, I am her husband. Because we were married by a mullah in a mosque. So, to her, we entered into marriage under the blessing of Allah.... which is much more important to her, her brothers, her mother and father.... than having the government recognize our marriage.

When she moves to the USA, were just gonna go down to the judge and having a civil marriage, to get the government aspect of it out of the way. Because as of now, again, we are husband and wife in the eyes of Allah.

nothing like google....ehehehehe... :-)..

The G7 (also known as the G-7 or Group of Seven) is the meeting of the finance ministers from a group of seven industrialized nations. It was formed in 1976, when Canada joined the Group of Six: France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, and United States of America.[1] The finance ministers of these countries meet several times a year to discuss economic policies. Their work is supported by regular, functional meetings of officials, including the G7 Finance Deputies.[2]

It is not to be confused with the G8, which is the annual meeting of the heads of government of the aforementioned nations, plus Russia.

The G7 held a meeting on April 11, 2008, in Washington D.C.[3], met again on October 10, 2008, in Washington D.C., and then met again on February 14, 2009, in Rome, to discuss the global financial crisis of 2007-2009.[4][5] The group of finance ministers has pledged to take "all necessary steps" to help stem the crisis.[6]

Oh, My God! I am loving this discussion...please do keep it up- it is truly awesome. See, I don't get to hear very often on the views of regular Americans, as at my work, politics and religious topics had been tabu for years - and that's the only place I talk to next door girls and guys, besides watching/following the news.

This is soooo interesting.

What do you, guys, think of the new now government?

Come on, talk to me, I can't talk to anyone at work about this, and my boyfriend is more interested of the job Medvedev is doing and the situation in Russia, than who joined Obama instead of last resign White House had.

He says he is going to follow American News when he gets here, not anytime sooner. So, over the years, I gave up to try to catch up his interest, we have so many other things we talk about - almost never the politics.

P.S. You don't really have to talk to me, you can talk to each other, It will work just as well. I think I am sort of buyest when it comes to politics, I seem to have idolize USA and hate everything about Russian government/attitude.

P.P.S. Nadya, NVC - is a free call, other that u pay for the long distance charges.

Ndalessandro, good luck w/the appoitment.

Your thoughts in general:)))) They are saying economy is fixed:) Present for President's day:)

My thoughts in general are, I am optimistic that the USA is going to go full blown socialist. Because now, we are stuck in this abomination of an economic policy, seems like 50% socialism and 50% free market. The fat and lazy get spoon fed by government programs (50% socialism) and business executives are bringing home a pretty penny while worker's pay increase is minimal (free-market). It's a bad mix for the working class american (middle class).

The economy being fixed? Who said that? Maybe our economy will be fixed short time, but long term the USA is potentially doomed. We have printed and have promised to print so much money that it is a matter of time before hyper-inflation sets in. Our obsession with printing money is so bad now, that other countries are worrying about the health of the american economy, such as China which is wondering if they should continue holding onto our government bonds, or dumping them... which by the way would be absolutely devestating for us.

But no matter, because as I said, hyper-inflation is going to set in, eventually.

We are already having a federal budget crisis, unable to pay for the current social programs we do have... and what does our government do? They expand government programs???? And how do they plan on paying for it???? Printing more money???

Now, please do not think I am saying everyone should avoid moving to america. America is still a great country. The nice thing about our problem is, that it is happening all over the world... so technically the USA is not losing any ground to any one country. The end result of this economic turmoil is that america will have the same standard of living as many european countries. Americans will not be able to live lavishly and without a care like in the past.
