hi nanz..

had mine done through a designer, even if i thought it was not practical that time pero the thought that i'd only be married ONCE made me think na i have to have my dream wedding gown!! hahahaha...well if you opt to go to a designer with 10K, pwede yun but you can't keep the gown. para ka lang nag-rent, tapos 1st user ka then you have to have it dried clean before returning. pero considering that you're getting married abroad plus with a tight budget, you can always go to a reputable bridal shop (NEVER yung ordinary dress shop) kasi they have more experience in making gowns plus they're skilled in beadworks (which mind you, BEADWORKS make gowns look really edgy and sophisticated).

you can browse through bridal magazines for designs and choose something you'd like then you can bring that with you when you go to the shop. of course the dressmaker will make suggestions but you have to point out to her certain details you'd want for your gown like the type of cloth, the beads or crystals you want to be embedded on your gown and so on an so forth.

no matter how tight you are in your budget, you have to make sure that you LIKE your gown coz thats what matters, coz on that big day, you should be comfortable wearing it and feel beautiful while walking down the aisle..

Hi Nanz,

I bought my materials from Tutuban in between my Medical and Interview. I made sure I already had the design so I knew what accessories to buy with the cloth. All in all I paid about P2,000.00 for the materials and I had my favourite seamstress in my hometown make it. She charged me for only P2,500.00 including the veil. When my in-laws asked me how much I paid for everything they were shocked because they thought it cost hundreds of dollars. They just love it.

Remember, its not how expensive your gown is . . . even the cheapest wedding gown would look great. Nasa nagdadala yan :)

Goodluck to you.

Hi, when you get in Taft Avenue, take a jeepney going to Divisoria. Then when you are there, just ask anyone (i.e. vendor/s) where are the boutiques selling gowns.
