Favorite carnival/fair food

I went to a local fair this weekend and ate like a pig!!! Stuff I would not normally eat, but you gotta have when the fair is in town.

I had: fried dough (with pizza sauce and grated cheese), beer battered onion rings, freshly squeezed lemonade ... and I stole bites of hubby's Italian sausage on a bun, cotton candy, french fries, fried Twinkie and fried Milky Way.

BTW, the fried Twinkie was gross but everything else was yummy

So what are your favorite foods at a fair or carnival?

Oh man the carnival food is so good yet so bad for you! I love fresh strawberry lemonade, shaved Hawaiian ice (like a sno cone but tons better) polish sausuages, curly fries and elephant ears

They didn't have mini doughnuts here. Hubby was saddened. Maybe it is a Canadian thing? Or a West Coast thing? I don't think I have ever seen them at any fairs or carnivals here in the Northeast.

Mini donuts are everywhere I remember eating them in North Carolina at flea markets as a kid. And I had them last year at Pier 39 in San Francisco. Maybe your fair just sucks? ;D

But I love funnel cakes. Nothing fancy on them though, just powdered sugar!

Deep Fried Cheese Curds!! Yummmmm!!! Wisconsin State Fair...where my grandparents lived. Also..Texas State Fair Corn Dogs! And in Florida. Fried Empanadas-Colombian style with hot sauce! Geez!

I'm talking specifically about the San Gennaro festival, which is coming up soon.

Gosh, I love all fair foods. Everyone has to experience that at least once a year. I think my favourite would have to be funnel cakes. However, I've never had deep fried cheese curds! Wow, do those sound awesome. I'll have to look for them. Of COURSE they'd be in Wisconsin, but hope to see them other places!
