Last name on ticket - new or maiden?

My wife and I had her AOS interview on August 25th and she was approved for a green card. We don't have it in the mail just yet but she did get Advanced Parole documents a few days ago, so she'll travel (end of this month) either with the GC if she gets it by that time or with AP if she doesn't.

So firstly my main question is this: when my wife and I got married she took my last name. Her Russian passport still has her maiden name (because it's such a PITA to have it changed). She's worried about having different last names on different documents, especially AP/GC having her new last name and her passport having her maiden name. Which name should she buy the plane tickets under? Girls on some other forum she's on in similar situations got the plane tickets either under their maiden names or under a combination such as newlastname-maidenname or some such thing. What are your experiences and suggestions regarding all of this?

Also, if she travels using AP, to whom does she present it and does it get taken from her? She got her AP as two NOA looking, absolutely identical to each other sheets of paper. They're both green I-512L forms. Why is there two of them? Do both of them get used?

Many thanks.

When she gets time have her send her passport to the Russian consulate so they can add her new name to a page in her passport. It's easy and doesn't take too long (check the Russian embassy website). That's what we have done and never a problem with travel outside the country. Until them you should get the ticket in the passport name but carry a copy of the marriage certificate just in case.
