Hi all, I hope that someone can help me. I sent in the I-129F in April 2008. I received the NOA1 about two weeks later and the check was cashed. I keep reading about this "NOA" but it is now September and I still haven't received anything after that original receipt of them receiving my info. Should I be worried? I did see that my info was "touched" on July 2 but that is it.

Please advise...

Thank you, this is just so nerve racking!! Is there anything that I should be "doing" while waiting on this "NOA2"? Also, does anyone have any idea how long after the NOA2 he should be here (theoretically)? How quikly do things move from that point? He keeps asking me when I think he will be able to come and I have no clue...:(

Nerve racking it is! Usually, after your NOA2, things start to speed up BUT you still need to have patience, as there is no rhyme or reason to most of the wait times. While you're waiting, try to relax and keep a happy outlook so that you and your fiance are not driven into insanity! I know, easier said than done, but we all have to do it! Good luck, and check the the time lines from your country to get a better idea of your expected wait time.

It's usually the most nerve wracking part.

Check HERE for a flow chart (you're almost at Step 4) you'll see it really does move much quicker once NVC gets your file.

What you can be doing is :

  • Have a copy of your I-129f package ready to send to your fiancé
  • Gather any needed items for your I-134 (affidavit of support); Tax Returns, etc.
  • Read up on the guides so you'll understand what is needed for the interview (medical, fees, forms, etc).
  • Check the Embassy Review section so you'll read other people's experiences with your particular embassy/consulate

Other than that - keep doing what you've been doing.
