Can I submit a photocopy of the marriage certificate or do I need to submit the one I have?

Thanks for posting this coz I was having second thoughts about the documents to be submitted either originals or photo copies too!

I will be a September filer for AOS! hopefully speedy journey and waiting time begins....

I submitted just photocopy of certified marriage certificate. The funny thing is my husband and I get 4 certified copy and I submitted just a photocopy one. hehe. Anyways it might be useful for future use and I always had 1 certified copy of MC together with my passport.Just sharing ;)

Dec 17, 2008---WELCOME NOTICE RECEIVED

Jan 9, 2009---CARD RECEIVED FINALLY! Approval date 12-10-08..expires on 12-10-10

I submitted just photocopy of certified marriage certificate. The funny thing is my husband and I get 4 certified copy and I submitted just a photocopy one. hehe. Anyways it might be useful for future use and I always had 1 certified copy of MC together with my passport.Just sharing ;)

Ever read the Instructions for the forms? All it asks for is a copy of the Marriage Certificate. I'd make sure it is a filed or registered copy that you are copying...

Maybe I wasn't clear, sorry! All they want is a copy (photocopy).

A Marriage License/Certificate isn't valid unless it is filed or whatever they call it in your jurisdiction. All I was saying is make sure it is a copy of the legal document. Copies are fine.

I enclosed original marriage certificate and original birth certificate since i brought couples of originals when i went here.

Either photo copies or original will work as long you are following the instructions all will be good. Good luck.
