Hello all -

So, I noticed that at the interview, my fellow will have to pay for the visa (something like $131) and also for the courier...

Wondering if it's best to pay the visa fee in US dollars, and the courier in pounds?

Or does it matter?

What did you all do?

Thanks!!

If I remember correctly the couriers will only accept GBPs, but you can pay for the visa in either sterling or dollars. You can pay for the visa using some credit and debit cards too.

You remember right.

I paid for the visa in GBP with my credit card. It appeared in dollars on my statement. Makes no difference how you pay.

Good luck.

:-O

How much cash (in total) does one need to bring to the interview? My fiance doesn't use cards. I completely forgot about finding out how much he's going to need to have in his wallet.

1. $131 for the visa (amount in £ will depend on the exchange rate)

2. £14 for delivery (will be more for delivery before a certain time, up to £21 extra I think)

3. Some money if he needs to leave anything in left luggage. I think the pharmacy charges £10.

4. Any change (probably $) if he needs a drink. I recall someone saying something about a drinks machine in the embassy)

There is a wee mini stall like cafe at the back of the waiting area. I didn't use it though, I was too nervous I would miss my number!! I had already stocked myself up with starbucks that's around the corner from the embassy.
