The NVC must have the lowest standard in order to hire employees, My wife in the states sent the complete I-864 back in august, to our surprise the NVC issued a RFE on basis that there is no relationship between my wife and her parents, I can't beleive they can actually issue something like that when in the birth certificate says it all, now they say we have to send the complete I-864 AGAIN! just because someone there is not doing his/her job, what a dissapointment, call NVC at all times so they get on their butts and start working, we pay a lot of money for these applications, they should be considering that because of their mistake they are keeping families apart...

I know how u feel!! im so sorry! unfortunately; we never know whats really going on there! I do get the feeling sometimes that if one of them was not in a good mood some papers r going to be messed up lol and some other times i try to give the benefit of the doubt that may be the large numbers of papers n pressure they re under; things do get lost!

I really hope all of this gets fixed in no time!

we all hear you. but you have to look what did your wife send, why NVC doesn't consider her parents to have a relationship with her. yes birth certificate can sometime be fake unless otherwise prove.

if you send i864 with a cosponsor then the best way is get it notarized.

the government can sometime really tricky especially about immigrants.

So, the co-sponsor is supposed to have a relationship to the petitioner? Is the co-sponsor a 'joint sponsor' (I-864) or a 'household member' (I-864A)? We used my husband step-father as a joint sponsor, but nothing in the instructions indicated we needed to prove a relationship, so none was sent. I hope I don't get an RFE.

You don't have to be related to the Co-sponser. The household member has to have the same address and if you are related to them you have to provide evidence of that relation. Good luck.

yes cosponsor is anyone who live in the same address,

i864 doesn't need prove of relationship

i m in the same boat.

My wife is not sending I 864 & I864A coz she has to prove her relation to her parents.

shes just waiting for her mother BC.

I dont think so that I 864A should be notarize.
