Hello Guys...I've been here sa US for a week pa lang..I just want to ask kung gaano katagal pa ang hihintayin to get my Grenn Card? also kelan ako pwede mg apply ng SSN? Your response will be much appreciated...Thanks!!! God Bless!!!

Last August 13 me nandito sa US then kinabukasan nagpunta agad me ng SSA for my SSN kaso ang sabi ide2liver within 10 working days kc sa CR1 automatic ang pag apply natin ng SSN dahil sa DS230.. then after 10 days wla pa rin ung SSN ko so we decided na magpunta ulit sa SSA. inapply ulit nila ko kc nasa system na nila ung name ko.. hay.. maghi2ntay ulit me ng 2 weeks for my SSN card.. and then my GC dumating last August 22.. ang bilis nga kaya ako nagtaka ako.. kc usually mas mauuna ung SSN kesa sa GC.. yan lang ung experience ko.. Since ur on CR1 din...I sau na rin ako mg ask ng mga info on some issue kung ok lang sau..hehehe..By the way,i got my GC Sept.7 then I got my SSN the next day and then I got my Welcome to US letter the next day..hehehe...I've been here in the US August 25.Anyways,ngtaka lang kami ng asawa ko kasi we thought that I'll have 10 Years GC but I only got 2 years...Akala kasi namin its supposed to be 10 years kasi we're 2 years married na before I even get here sa US...Tama ba kami or USCIS yung tama?hehehe

no need to adjust ng status.. before mag 90 days ng expiration ng Greencard.. may fill up tau na form (FORM I-751) plus proof of marriage ulit like pictures, joint account, health insurance etc.. para mapalitan na ung card natin ng 10 yrs.. un na lang ang ga2win natin.. nakakuha ka na rin ba ng ID.. i mean ako kc nandito sa California.. nag apply ako ng California ID. Ikaw? San ka sa US?

I received mine after 3 weeks as well as my SSN.. That was in 2006 .. Be patient.. it will arrive soon. If you are a CR-1 Visa, once you receive the card and your SSN you can apply jobs immediately.. Compare to K3 Visa.. they have to file AOS and EAD.. Dont worry.. it is worth waiting..

What is the CR-1 Visa?

The CR-1 (Conditional Resident) visa allows applicants to receive conditional permanent residence upon arrival in the US. Recipients of the CR-1 are able to work immediately upon arrival in the US. Conditional Residents usually receive their green card in the mail 2 - 3 months after arrival. Permanent resident status is considered conditional, because the immigrant must prove that they did not get married merely to circumvent the immigration laws of the United States.

The conditional resident and the US citizen spouse must apply together to remove the conditional status of permanent residence. It is advisable to apply 90 days before the end of the spouse’s second year as a conditional resident. If the application to remove conditional status is not filed in time, the immigrant spouse could lose her conditional resident status and be subject to removal from the country.

K-3 Visa & CR-1 Visa Process

The K-3 visa vs. the Immigrant (CR-1, IR-1) visas:

The K-3 visa was created with one intention: to allow spouses of U.S. citizens to swiftly get a visa to the U.S. without waiting for an immigrant visa (CR-1, IR-1) to become available. However, for spouses of U.S. citizens, there is no annual limit to the number CR-1 or IR-1 visas that can be issued each year, so an these visas are always immediately available.

The only difference between the K-3 and the immigrant visas (CR-1 and IR-1) is processing time. The USCIS must apply the exact same standards to both the CR-1 and IR-1 petitions for spouses of US Citizens as it does for K-3 visa petitions for spouses of US Citizens. It usually takes 2-3 months longer for the CR-1 and IR-1 Visa’s to be processed because the National Visa Center takes more time to process these visas.

The K-3 visa is faster up front, but a spouse who enters the country on a K-3 visa must adjust his or her status to conditional residency after he or she enters the United States. The time and money saved by getting the K-3 visa is made up because the adjustment of status demands an additional investment of time and money.

The bottom line: If you are looking to get your spouse into the United States as soon as possible then the K-3 visa is the way to go. However, if speed is not essential and if it is important that your spouse is a permanent resident from the moment he/she enters the US and will be able to work upon entry into the country, then the Immigrant (CR-1 and IR-1) visas are a better fit.

Thank you talaga sa mga unfo ha..by the way,ask ko lang,during my medical @ st. luke,sabi nila sa akin na I have to get my other 2 shots in any private doctors..yung mga shots na binigay nila sa akin are MMR,TDaP and HPV.dapat daw 3 yung HPV pero 1 lang ibibigay nila sa akin then sa private doctor ko na raw ipagawa yung rest 2 shots..will it affect my green card if ever hindi ako magpa vaccine dito sa US or kelangan ko talagang ipagpatuloy?Sensya na sa maraming tanong ha...

Thank you talaga sa mga unfo ha..by the way,ask ko lang,during my medical @ st. luke,sabi nila sa akin na I have to get my other 2 shots in any private doctors..yung mga shots na binigay nila sa akin are MMR,TDaP and HPV.dapat daw 3 yung HPV pero 1 lang ibibigay nila sa akin then sa private doctor ko na raw ipagawa yung rest 2 shots..will it affect my green card if ever hindi ako magpa vaccine dito sa US or kelangan ko talagang ipagpatuloy?Sensya na sa maraming tanong ha...
