To be fair to Gary, there are other people here who are pretty strident that I wouldn't put anywhere near the Obama campaign either as they would completely undermine his message.

The usual suspects had no clue what the article meant and that's a good sign. They didn't even realize the "two Americas" was Edward's stump standard speech and these guys think they are politically astute. Of course it's also forgotten that Hillary started the Muslim whisper campaign and Obama's past drug use. Obama is unqualified to be Prez. Don't believe Republicans just ask his VP nominee, Biden, a man with 36 years experience in the U.S. Senate who said Obama is unqualified.

I asked Obama supporters to give me a single memorable phrase from Obama's historic "olympic" acceptance speech- only one out of dozens could recall a phrase. There was nothing there but a recycled Mondale speech from 1984. His experience now largely consists in his running for president. As I said in the beginning it really doesn't matter what Obama says or does because the guy is just a symbol they think can win.

There's only one America for Obama followers- our way or you're an evil throw back from the boonies. Alaska, like a lot of states may as well be former Soviet republics when it comes down to understanding how the little people live in their shacks in Kansas. They aren't on the radar and most of people must be Christian scum who voted for Bush anyway so why figure 'em out. Not media outlets so just assume the worst about the rubes.

Reminds of Kerry's last words, "We don't need the South". The South no need for him and they roundly kicked him and native son Edwards to the curb forever.

What use is an answer to a totally hypothetical question that has nothing to do with the discussion at hand? Try and stick to the here and now. That is where the discussion is. Both McCain and Palin are more qualified than Obama. That is the real answer to the question. Why do you insist on changing the subject? Because you don't like the answer to the real issue?

A strange comment when you look at this board and see dozens of smear topics about Palin with hundreds of replies. Reps do attack and smear but the dems have taken it to a new low in regards to smearing children.

Because she has a 17yr old knocked up daughter and she thinks every american family is cool with it. Maybe she needs to do some educating at home first, before she starts preaching to the rest of the nation of what she can do for us. Perhaps she has some items on her 'to-do' list at home that aren't taken care of.

She lacked to teach your sister some items. Your mother is not running for the VP of the US either. With that type of status, you should have a solid background, and her's is closer to Britney's than to a real VPs.

My comments were to be condescending. They are not sexist. I dont care what you or your brother, or your neighbor ended up doing in life. I dont care about your sister either. 17yr old pregnancies are wrong. A VP should be a role model, as a leader, as a woman, as a mother. Not teaching your kid and setting them up for a hard life is a failure as a parent. Certainly not VP material. So get up off your high horse, this is not about your or your family.

That's really uncalled for. Robin is making a point that what a 17 does or doesn't do isn't necessarily a reflection of the minor's parents. Anyone who's been a teenager or has one knows that to be true. Secondly, it's got nothing to do with Sarah Palin's ability to lead this country, whether you agree with her politics or not. Harping on this issue as Robin keeps pointing is only drawing more sympathy for Palin as a mother and woman trying to make it in a man's world.
