APPROVED BUT STILL WAITING

i was scheduled for the interview last august 29. this was my second interview date, because the original date was supposed to be in june 19. but due to more medical exam requirements (SPUTUM CULTURE - which turned out negatiive after 2 months!) i had to go back to st lukes for the second time and finish the remaining med exams, w/c i was eventually cleared for it, thank God!

it was fortunate that on august 29, there weren't too many ppl in the embassy since it was a specially scheduled interview date for persons who had extended medical exam. meaning, our interview date was arranged by st lukes. we were only like 50-60 interviewees. i was scheduled for the 7am interview and i got there at 6am (after a long ride from las pinas).

it wasn't as complicated as i thought. after entering the gates of the embassy, we were asked to sit down in a waiting area, lined accdg to our interview times and wait for some time. then it was time to go inside the embassy. sit down and wait again.

1st counter - this was where our numbers were given. since i am a k1 applicant, it was on that counter where i submitted my DS forms (156, 156k (with the $131 bank validation), 157) and a number was given in return. remember that the numbers are not called in numerical order in the counters, so u have to watch the board where the numbers are posted very closely. if you don't come right away to the counter you are called, the workers get pissed.

then i was called to COUNTER 14, for reasons i do not know. maybe this was just a check or some sort. than i was made to wait again. my number was 7001, maybe numbers staring with 7 are for k1 or k3 applicants only. as for immigrants, their numbers started with 6 or 5.

waiting game again.. until i was called to COUNTER 19 with a filipina behind the counter. she asked for the affidavit of support, paystubs of my fiance, pictures, evidences and other stuff. she didn't ask me for my ^%)php payment because the embassy already received my doc verification since i paid last june 10. she asked me several questions like:

1. what is my name, age, birthday, birth date

2. my fiance's name, age, birthday, address, birthdate

3. when was the last time he was in pinas, and what are the dates of all the trips he made to pinas

4. when did i meet my fiance? - this question was a short one since i told her i met my fiance way back in college.

5. how long we were dating?

then after answering all those questions, i sat down and waited again until my name was called out to go to COUNTER 16 for FINGER PRINTING. after finger printing, i waited again for my interview room. for my case i was interviewed at room 31. don't forget to promptly check the numbers flashing on the screen.

i was interviewed by an american young lady, ithink she was in her early 30s.. she asked the same questions as stated above and some extras like what as my fiance's work? she was very nice but not so warm (which i didn't mind coz she was not rude anyway). she tried to read our emails and she laughed because our emails were usually in our dialect (ilonggo) and it was all greek to her. lol.

after the interview, all she said was congratulations and good luck. and she instructed me to wait outside for further instructions. that instruction was to wait to be called and go to COUNTER 37 for releasing and i was given a pink slip and instructed to go to the delbros counter to pay for the delivery fee for 250php.

as early as 9.30 i was released with a pink slip,a smile on my face and a relieved feeling that the interview was over..

as for now: i am waiting for the delbros guy to show up so that i can get my visa package.

after that my fiance and i will arrange for my plane ticket.. we are deciding on a jan 29, 2009 flight so i can spend the holidays with my family and by that time, my fiance's back in the US after his deployment in russia.

sana nga naman.. kc u had ur interview last aug28 so dats a day before my interview and u just received your visa. where do you live nga pala? location plays a vital role in the delivery of the visa dba? so hopefully mine will arrive din tomorrow, besides the delbros website is of no help naman. i will definitely post sumthing if i receive it na.
