Mga kaibigan,

Last week there was a thread in these discussion boards asking who your favorite athletes are. You were so enthusiastic in naming a battery of your idols and they came from the whole gamut of sports ... from tennis to baseball, from soccer to American football, from golf to basketball, etc. Even NASCAR was represented.

Now, the question is ... what sport do you play or used to play? Or, what sport would you want to play? As for me, I was the pitcher of the girls' softball team at Santa Cruz High School in Davao decades ago. Now, I'd like to play golf; matter of fact, I hit a bucket of range balls at Mt. Apo GC every spare time I get. I want to be my SO's partner on the links and not be a golf widow!

How about you? :star::star::star:

I play golf and I'm a member of the men's club at Cresta Verde GC in Corona, Calif. with a handicap index of 8. :star::star::star:

I also fish for trout during the cool months.:thumbs::thumbs:

Sheriff,

Can I make a suggestion, please? Could you devise a way that would enable us to post sub topics on the OT PI forum just like what they got on the general OT forum? Things should be very much easier to follow, and make comments to, if they are sorted by sub topics and not bundled in just 1 OT thread. Besides, we don't want to disrupt Roy and Daruma in their exchange of videos !! Just kidding, boys. :jest::jest::jest:

Great suggestion! I'll have to see if the powers that be will allow that to happen, but I do like it a lot.

Why was this thread unpinned?

Maybe it contains nonsense and idiotic videos as what Roy and Razi correctly stated, quoting one member in another thread :)

So no more nonsense and idiotic videos. . . DARN :)

No! It's because someone is complaining that I have been closing threads and that has spilled over into this thread. I know that there is no logical connection but there it is. I'm working on getting in pinned again. Sorry about that...

Some people don't know what to do with their God given talents. Instead the spend them hopelessly in a vacuum never setting foot on other fertile soil to grow. Make your light a positive light upon others and you may find your life more fulfilled in return.

Subject: Guts and Balls

Subject: Guts or Balls?

There is a medical distinction. We've all heard about people having

guts or balls, but do you really know the difference between them?

In an effort to keep you informed, the definitions

are listed below:

GUTS - Is arriving home late after a night out with

the guys, being met by your wife with a broom, and

having the guts to ask: 'Are you still cleaning, or

are you flying somewhere?'

BALLS - Is coming home late after a night out with

the guys, smelling of perfume and beer, lipstick on

your collar, slapping your wife on the butt and having

the balls to say: You're next, Chubby.'

I hope this clears up any confusion on thedefinitions. Medically speaking, there is no

difference in the outcome, since both ultimately

result in death.

Removal of Conditions :

August 16, 2010 - Petition received by USCIS Vermont Center

August 20, 2010 - NOA1 received

October 4, 2010 - Biometrics

January 3, 2011 - Permanent 10 yr. Green Card Received.

Greatest Number One Hits

Posted Mon Sep 15, 2008 5:20pm PDT by Robert of the Radish in The Y! Music Playlist Blog

(Play Playlist)

The Billboard Hot 100 chart began identifying the top songs in America back in 1958. The list takes airplay and sales into account and is a good measure of what the most popular songs are at a point in time. Songs that make to the very top of this list on any given week can claim the moniker "number one hit".

This playlist is a collection of the best of the best. The greatest hits to ever peak on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Now before you start whining about why a particular song did not make the grade please ask yourself if the song ever made it to the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. If not, it will not be on this playlist.

It's easy to find a list of Billboard's number one hits, but how does one narrow it down from there? Do you select the biggest sellers, the most critically acclaimed, personal favorites? Well, ultimately I decided on some parameters to help me tailor the list into a chronological time capsule that represents the best of what planet earth had to offer in terms of popular music.

The list includes just one song for each year since the Hot 100 chart began in 1958 and I made the decision to not repeat artists. Although some (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones) could easily have multiple songs on this list, I thought giving other talented acts a chance would create a better cross-section of popular music.

One thing I noticed as I moved from decade to decade was that it got much harder to choose a song I could really identify with. To my ears the 60's and 70's and even the 80's were filled to the brim with timeless tracks, while both the quality and quantity of #1 hits took a nosedive in the 90's and 00's. I'm not sure if this is because I'm getting old and am out of touch with what the kids dig today, or if popular music is indeed dead.

What do you think?

I believe we are out of touch to what kids listen to today... Popular music has been dying as you said starting in the 90's. There doesn't seem to be an appreciation for music like it used to be. I have always been a music lover, but it is getting harder to find any good artist who can consistently churn out hit after hit. The only Genre that I see that appeals to me in todays music is Country. Rock, sadly is a dying breed. Can't find any groups who can master the art of songwriting and piecing together the music that goes with it. I believe once these old artist are dead and gone, Rock & Roll as we know it will be gone forever....
