My friend explained what Charles supposed to mean of his reply to me.

I'm going to cook mussels today for supper. Hmmm, yummy.

Hubby and son love baked mussels with butter and garlic. Can't believe how expensive it is here! $5 for 20 pieces of mussels When I left the Philippines it was P30 a kilo (or 40 cents a pound). Hay tahong (mussels), food for the poor in the Philippines, when it arrives in America, they are food for the rich and famous

I cooked baked mussels with fried garlic and margarine on it. And mussels with ginger soup. (Only i have put much pepper on it, it's spicy. Lol. I ended up removing the soup and do it again.)

Next week i am going to cook the octopus. Lol. I got some sea foods from Filipino store last Sunday. So happy i feel like i am in Philippines again.

Like the OP, AJAnTESS, who incidentally is my H2B (thanks for the acronym, mrsartis at post #14), I'm into cocktails with gin in them, e.g., Tom Collins and White Lady. By the way, my H2B left a half jug of fresh tuba when he was here in Davao in June. He says he likes his Ilocano sugar cane wine (basi) better!
