My friend explained what Charles supposed to mean of his reply to me.

I'm going to cook mussels today for supper. Hmmm, yummy. :P

Hubby and son love baked mussels with butter and garlic. Can't believe how expensive it is here! $5 for 20 pieces of mussels  When I left the Philippines it was P30 a kilo (or 40 cents a pound). Hay tahong (mussels), food for the poor in the Philippines, when it arrives in America, they are food for the rich and famous

I cooked baked mussels with fried garlic and margarine on it. And mussels with ginger soup. (Only i have put much pepper on it, it's spicy. Lol. I ended up removing the soup and do it again.)

Next week i am going to cook the octopus. Lol. I got some sea foods from Filipino store last Sunday. So happy i feel like i am in Philippines again.

Like the OP, AJAnTESS, who incidentally is my H2B (thanks for the acronym, mrsartis at post #14), I'm into cocktails with gin in them, e.g., Tom Collins and White Lady. By the way, my H2B left a half jug of fresh tuba when he was here in Davao in June. He says he likes his Ilocano sugar cane wine (basi) better! :star::star::star:
