Does anyone else notice how most of the political threads around here are against McCain and Palin? Do you notice the people who used to post anti Obama or Hillary articles all the time gave up? :P Now there is a major imbalance in the type of political threads posted. If anyone thinks it's because there is nothing bad to say about Obama, they are wrong.

Well give issues that can be discussed. Right now its all about McCain's lack of political judgement and Palin's very limited experience as well as very narrow-minded political views that are far from an umbrella of the entire nation.

Of course... those are not what I consider to be issues like economy, foreign policy, taking care of domestic issues... but its pretty clear the Republicans are not really interested in advocating for that kind of discussion given light of the reality of the last 2 presidential terms.

We've had the 'Obama is not perfect' discussion as well from thread to thread. There is some degree of selective memory going on there in some cases.

but a few months ago we were inundated with posts against Obama... I think it kind of evens out...

what I would really like to see is positive threads about each candidate.. instead of all the the threads against them...

Oh there weren't many complaints about those.

there weren't?? am I missing something here...

are do you mean complaints by the Republicans??

I can say bad about Obama.

He is calculation careerist, but so are all politicians.

Most of his rhetoric does not do much for me.

Biden's views are kind of outdated, not much change coming from him.

But he has some qualities that are really important NOW. Ability to think, to energize and unite people, not only here in the US, but abroad too.

I do not think he is very genuine, but that is less important at this point, as I said he is a politician after all.

Pretty much so. There really shouldn't be any surprises then.

I think we need quality rather than quantity.

Besides its not so black and white. There's been plenty of criticism of Obama. There's also been a lot of silly backbiting about irrelevancies.

Yep. Funny thing is that the more sillyness goes on, the less people are exposed to the issues they are complaining about. I wonder what campaign benefits from this.

Pretty much so. While some discussed the silliness with actual issues, others sit back and didn't complain. Now the 'opposite' is happening and some are having a fit that these non-issues hit so close to home. I find that to be quite hypocritical.

Well there are serious issues to be discussed - but people would rather get up in arms about a candidates family background than the policy platform they actually stand on. The "nudge-nudge, wink-wink" innuedo ####### is sickening to me personally.

last time I checked US was still on Earth, among other countries. Our deficit and trade and economy is tied together, as well as air, water, fish, etc etc.

Just pouring money to some far away places instead of spending it HERE, in the US, should be enough reason at least to think about it, consider it.

Maybe I am wrong, and we shall continue to piss everyone off and pay money for favors. Start couple more unilateral "actions" or "coalitions of the willing" at our expense.

See, you always have to add these little digs to your posts. When "Paul Daniels" posts I find it to be much more objective. It's clear how he feels about the current admin and certain issues, but he doesn't add digs into all his posts against one party every time. So I find your posts very subjective yet you act as if they aren't.

Paul Daniels is Paul Daniels and Maviwaro is Maviwaro. ;)

When you post in a message board, you post your opinions for the most part. But perhaps in addition to the dibs you focus on, you can also notice the modifiers, conditioners, and otherwise neutralizing mechanisms that put those dibs into quite a clear and *surprise* objective perspective.

eta: Do notice who's doing the issue debating and who's not.
