TWO co-sposnsors possible?

Hello everyone!

Here is yet another silly question in this never ending story of filing out forms.

My husband wants to know if his uncle and wife can combine their assest to show they make enough for their family plus immigrant to qualify for the 125 percent above poverty line.

I think only his uncle can count his assets and if his wife was included she too would need to meet the poverty line limit. But my husband might be right and they could both be co-sponsorts...

Could his uncle's wife be included under section 24 in the form for additional persons who contribute to household income. Or would I be the only one who uses this line if I was in that house. I understand that If she does she too would need to fill out a I-864 .

Can anyone help us out on this one?

I am sorry if this is confusing anyone, I am very confused myself. Our initial sponsor made enough and I did not need to worry about all this stuff.

Thanks a lot.

Oh yes, this is good that the uncle's wife has income too! They can certainly be added together if they live in the same house. It's easy peasy in fact! You fill out the I-864 as the main sponsor (be sure to put US for domicile). The uncle fills out another I-864 as the only joint sponsor and includes his wife's income in the household income total in section 24, and then she fills out the I-864A (a different, shorter form) as a household member. (Like gwen said. I just wanted to expand on it.)

Thank you! Thank you!

I am so happy! It´s been so stressful to have to find out all this info. I didn´t bother to research it before because our initial sponsor made enough. And then two days ago we found out he couldn´t and then I had to cram all this info in my already filled up brain!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to both.

I can sleep a little better tonight and get that ball rolling again...
