Cheers all,

I know that is has been discussed in so many threads prior to this one, but what do i tell my husband who is the brit that he will be fine for the interview - I mean he wants to take everything with him, and yet we have our checklist and all they are wanting ....again....is an original Marriage Certificate - his medical was fine, blah blah blah...you all know the drill......but.

Besides the standard items to bring to interview such as passport, photos, moneyyyyyyyyyyyyy, etc., and evidence of being married like pics, blogs from im, is there a real reason for him to worry that he does not have enough to get an "APPROVED" at end of interview.

All issues are clean for us, so I am sorta at a loss for words for him except to say it will be ok mate, well I can say that, I am not the one going there.

Thanks all and any little tidbits that I can tell him would be appreciated.

Congrats!

My husband's interview is Sept 12th. He is the same way. He is absolutely freaking out over everthing he needs to be ready. Birth certificate, police record, marriage certificate, and on and on...

I really think its sort of funny. He has all these documents and he's had 386 days to get ready for this interview.

Well, I hope all goes well for you and yours.

Cheers,

LJ

My fiance's interview is on the 15th of September! we are soo nervous. He was initially given an appointment on the 12th of august, but when I mailed him the affedavit of support never received it. so what he did, is wrote a letter to the embassy and asked for a new appointment (15 sep) and it was granted. Now he has everything. ( US EMBASSSY LONDON).

Any advice? hints or tips would be highly appreciated

I think London is likely one of the most laid back embassies there is. I'd have to ask Nicky again, but I don't think he was in there more than 20 minutes. I think they only asked him a few questions. They asked how we met and he told them a U2 concert...and the guy interviewing him happened to be a big fan so a good chunk of the interview was a U2 discussion lol.

It's better being over prepared than being under prepared, however...from Nicky's experience our case was already approved before the interview (he got to peek inside the file and it already had the approved stamp in it). It seems that the interview is more of a going through the motions type of thing in London.

I wish it was 20 mins. More like 2 hours. But yeah the actual interview itself lasted 2 mins. Just allot of waiting around. When I got to the window the guy had my folder out in front of him, it had a big red APPROVED stamped across it. So I was fairly confident of getting the visa. :)

Ok I thought the actual time spent speaking to someone was 20 minutes...or else I just put a "0" behind the two.

I bet you think your wife never listens eh? :-p

Andy is approved! His interview was Fri. the 12th. They said his passport should be back by Fri. the 19th so we booked a flight for Sat. the 20th. We are both so relieved. Finally, this part is over. I know we still have a ways to go but this hurdle has been the greatest since we could not be together.

From filing the I129 to the interview took 386 days. I was beginning to doubt it would happen for us but it has. So my advice to all who are still waiting is have faith and DON'T COUNT THE DAYS!

I'll be sure Andy posts a review when he can get to a computer.

Thanks for all of your help,

LJ
