Airline proof receipts - mandatory or optional?

Is a proof of purchase ALWAYS asked for by HCMC consulate? I am not comfortable with giving the government my credit card statements if I don't have to. I have itinerary, email confirmation (with last 4 digits of my credit card #), ticket stubs from my trip. I am a Caucasian-American. Does HCMC tell you that you must provide proof of purchase or is it only sometimes asked for if the relationship is in question? Thank you

Jonas

p.s. are there any links I can follow to find specifics of what HCMC asks for now and at the interview? Besides receipts, birth certificates, photos, emails, phone bills, copies of passports, 1 year tax transcript - what else should I expect them to ask for? Thanks

You're going to want to post here... http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...=153&st=225 ;)

No need to give them numbers. We simply exported credit card statements to a spreadsheet and highlighted areas. You can also use a sharpie to 'black out' any personal information.

In HCMC you should probably send all you have.

good luck

You should contact the airline and ask for a copy of the receipt, they can email it to you. It will look like this:

Dear Valued Customer

Thank you for choosing United Airlines

As per your request for the copy of the receipt

You should also provide them with a credit card statement. Just black out the information that is sensitive.

They don't always ask for proof of purchase, but it is better to beat them to the punch IMHO.

As for proof, I believe it's better to have as many emails/letters as possible. I speak from experience. They looked at our emails and approved our case; nothing else requested

Case by case basis and different CO's check different things to check on the relationship being bona fide. Overall photos are still the most checked out. Pictures are still worth a thousand words!

More ammo the better!

pictures are worth thousand words only if it shows you two spent a lot of time together. If you have pictures and they only show you two spent a day or two together, C.O. may use it against you.

How do C.O. recognize whether you spent a lot of time together by looking at your photos? I don't know. But if I'm C.O., I won't look at clothes. I look at skins, hairs of same people in the pictures, the surroundings...ect....something that will change overtime. If your photos have timestamp, it's good.

Keep ALL receipts, credit card bills, phone bills, Hotel receipts, emails, chat logs,

Also, if you stay with your fiance's family, I recommend taking your passport to the local police station and registering with them that you are staying in the house and for how long. They will also provide you a copy.
