Hey, I just have a little question. I just read in another forum that the interviewer will keep the AP document at the interview...Well, I have my interview on June 7th and will be going to Germany for three weeks on June 13th. I did not have done any biometrics or fingerprints yet and will have to do that after the interview. My question now is, are they still gonna keep my AP even if my approval is still pending on the background check due to giving fingerprints so late? How will I be able to get back into the US after my trip? Please help.

Thank you very much.

If you are approved at the interview, they will take your AP and EAD as they are no longer valid. If they do this, then request the stamp stating that you will be travelling outside the US in the next few days. They should give you the stamp then...

Yes but even if I get approved it will still be pending on the Background Check. I did not give any fingerprints yet and will have to do that after the interview. I think that will delay everything.

If you still have the fingerprints left, then you will not be approved. You are not approved until everythng is done. There is a difference between being approved and having a successful interview...

OK, I got it. I am going to ask them to either leave me the AP or give me the stamp. Whatever works better for them. Thank you very much.
