Stashi.... i am almost there!!! just an hour and 33 min to go lol... i was a touch on the "*itchy" side today.. tomorrow I go back to work but tonight i have to go in to work for 3 hours yeah during fast breaking time

I am cooking chicken and brown rice to take with me and my prayer rug... that's what they get! lol. oh and coffee!!!! love my cup o jo no matter what the time

I think the second day is harder than the first and curious to see how fasting at work will be like tomorrow. I told my employees NO Teryaki for the whole month i am there. We'll see if they follow directions

How is everyone else....??? ARe you on the second section of the Qu'ran?

My second day was actually easier than my first. I drank lots of water last night so all through the day I still had saliva. It didn't take away my desire for some soda like everyone else was drinking, but I thank God for easing my fasting. Really, the hardest part was when I got home and still had two hours to go. I was trying to keep myself busy to make the time pass quicker.

I will be reading the second section of the Quran though I already read a few verses extra so that I can be ahead when aunt flow comes and I can't read the Quran. It lasts 6 days for me so that would be a lot to make up for later and I figure it is better to get ahead.

I have no idea why, but I'm feeling incredibly guilty about being sick :(

I also wanted to share this Ramadan with my husband, but that's a no go and he has threatened to force nutrition down me  Oh well, I'm at school 3 nights out of 7 so I told him to go ahead and go to the mosque every night since I didn't need someone to break fast with. If I'm not fasting I might have the energy to go with him the nights I don't have school... gotta look at the positive :)

Polar - You sound very, very sick and this holy time isn't meant for you to suffer - no one should ever fast if they're not physically well enough to do so - I'm Catholic (which I know Lent has nothing on the fasting of Ramadan) but I at times have been so ill, that my priest gave me a dispensation to eat meat on Fridays. I will say that there are also some Catholics who do fast regularly, drinking only water for sustenance for days on end - they will do this as a penance or to reconnect spiritually with the faith. Many of us also practice what we call a Eucharistic fast, which is where we don't eat or drink anything from dinner the night before until we go to Mass the next day - Catholics are now given a three-hour time frame, but there are still many of us who do it "Old School Style" - and everyday at that, for those who attend mass daily. Pardon my bandcamp story here - just thought I'd share. :ot:

Do what you can - and make some sacrifices in other ways. Maybe no sweets or sodas or anything that you truly, truly enjoy. Give money or food to the shelter in Miami. Ramadan is supposed to be a difficult time, but there is to be a sweetness to it, too...you shouldn't be killing yourself over it. Peace be with you.

:luv: Thanks

My husband has plans already on ways to help me make it up and I will be feeding the homeless downtown every Friday as usual, so I will be doing some good.

Olivia - your right, I was feeling pretty down all day today, but I want to be able to be thankful for the things I do have and inshalla I will find ways to fullfilll my duties and be generous with others.

I'm giving up all other liquids except water during the day and I'm going to stay away from sweets - can't promise anything after dinner though

I've said it once, and I'll say it again...I just LOVE the baby pictures!!! I hope we get to see some new butterball pix soon too! (Gabi, I miss ya girl)

I called the gyn today around noonish and he said that it sounded like my last problem where it lasted for like 3 months. He put me back on the pill which should have AF go home within 24 hours ensha'allah!!! I sure hope she packs up and is outta-here by morning! I'm gung ho for fasting now and don't wanna worry with making it up later. I also really have my heart set on completing qura'an this Ramadan so if she doesn't go away, there's no way I can complete it.

OMG I got home to leftover mansaf. yum. Problem is that I wasn't feeling too well and out of nowhere hubster decides to suck the marrow outta the lamb bone (yuck) and I nearly blew chunks everywhere. I actually had to excuse myself from the table and wash my face coz I was so nauseated! I couldn't even attempt to eat for another 20 minutes! That's just soooooooooooooooooooo nasty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
