Ah! I was going to come back and tell Amal I was in on the Rosetta Stone thing if we find 5-6 other ppl but the pages are taking forever to load.

Thx for the recommendation to try the Library Star Dragon! Whoot! That sounds like a great idea!

I was happy because it's Harira time. I love that stuff. We made our first batch yesterday.

I don't know how people get through Ramadan in this culture. Is it harder to be around people who don't fast? Or even in a culture that is not built/scheduled around fasting? I don't participate but support my husband. He got up at 430 to eat, and I had set a second alarm on the cell phone to wake him up for work. He turned the phone off. Not realizing that that would cancel the alarm. Thankfully I had alarm set for my own work, so he was only up an hour late.

We had some issues was well. First day did not go well and thank god I set up a few alarms. LOL

I think it is harder at times being w/ people that don't fast. I have a great group of friends that are very supportive at work but there are times in other social settings I feel overwhelmed by some peeps :) I have found that Ramadan overseas whether I have been in Jordan or Egypt seemed more like Christmas time/Easter here where the masses are going thru the same thing with you.

I have less than an hour to go before I can break my fast. There is no one here but me and I forgot to put any meat out for tonight, so I decided chinese food would do. I stopped at a good take out restaurant and picked up some sweet and sour shrimp, crab rangun and egg drop soup. I will not be able to eat all this, but I will have it for later and I can always eat some more tommorow night, lol.

My husband called me today. He said that he talked to some people and found out most of the Iraqi refugees he did all his appointments with are already in the United States or leaving in the next day or two. It makes no sense that they left my husband out :( This made me call my congresswoman's office to see if she ever got through to DOS. She said that they acknowledged they have my husband's case, but they don't have a status for it. She told me these things take years and I should be patient! I was like "What?" every other Iraqi refugee is not waiting like this, it makes no sense. I feel so frustrated and i am starting to resign myself to the fact he may never get here. For now I just keep praying for a miracle.

My funny of the day - no maybe MONTH. OMG. I'm chatting with my hunny with the webcam and I went to get my shisha to be all cool and stuff and show him, cause he was smoking his shisha there. I dropped mine on the carpet and it managed to shatter. So I try to get over to the kitchen to get stuff to clean it and i'm barefoot and he tells me to be careful. Well, the first "careful" step I take I feel glass go into my foot. And I cried out and saw blood and freaked out more (blood phobia). So I drop to the floor and hold my bleeding foot while crying and he's seeing all this on the webcam horrified saying "Oh my god...hunny!"......

I'm SUCH a doofus. All this drama and he got to see the whole thing. And I broke the shisha I brought from Morocco. :crying:

I'm kinda laughing about it now. And he was too by the time we finished talking. I'm more embarrassed!
