sooo lazy to get ready for work...Im considering chopping off my hair this week..its literally almost down to my derrier and i cant stand blowdrying it EVERY single day...its 35 mins out of my day..and by noon, its a mess and in a ponytail...

Kelly, I didn't have super long hair - but it was past my shoulders...well, I was getting what I like to call "hair lazy" and I couldn't take it anymore. I got a short cut and I haven't looked back since. It reminds me of what Katie Holmes has right now...I love it. I wash it at night when I shower and it dries by the time I wake up. In the AM, I just use some styling product and go. It rocks!

I know what you mean about short hair...I'd love to do it BUT I do NOT have the face for it. I wouldn't look like Katie Holmes ... more like Roseanne Barr.... :lmao: I do love my hair longer its face friendly for me! :) I'm in love w/ "Claire's" hair on Heroes!!! OMG...so amazing..wish I had the money for those extentions. LOL

Well, I don't look like Katie - more of the Roseanne Barr. But, oddly enough, I get a ton of compliments on my $12 SuperCuts haircut, than I ever did with a very pretty flippy hair cut that I wore for years. I just look good.:lol::lol:

I have never been to supercuts...but now with the twins...my life is changing! Formula, diapers and doctors first! I will try them out next time...I'm scared. :crying: LOL But if you say you have an awesome cut I feel better about it. I think I'm a salon snob (Ash...QUIET.. ) I keep thinking no more Spa days with the girls...no more salon...i guess it was a waste of money anyway but I sure did enjoy it! :innocent:

Mubarak!

Happy Ramadan but I am confused, in Morocco Ramadan started today how is the 2nd day?

There are 2 different ways a new islamic month is determined:

1. By calculation. Based upon when the new moon will most likely be seen, that's the start of the month. If it's cloudy and no one sees the moon, the month still starts. If the calculations were off and no one sees the moon, the month still starts.

2. By moon sighting. When someone sees the new moon, the month starts. There are 2 subcategories in this method:

a. Local sighting - when someone sees the moon in your locality, usually within your country, the month starts for that country.

b. Global sighting - when someone sees the moon anywhere in the world, the month starts for everyone in the world.

Those who calculated and follow 2b started Ramadan on Monday. The moon was sited in south america, parts of australia and in southern africa, so if you followed 2a and lived in those locations, you would also start Ramadan Monday.

Those who waited until they could see the moon in their country started Tuesday.

I am going to try to fast only but I honestly dont see any good in not drinking water, i am allowing myself that

With all due respect, Islam is about submission. We submit to what God has commanded, and what the Prophet (saws) has taught us. The Prophet's fast was from food, drink, and sexual activities during the day. Thus, that's what we do.

The Qur'an tells us that we can eat and drink at night UNTIL the beginning of fajr. Then we must resume our fast.

2:187 Permitted to you, on the night of the fasts, is the approach to your wives. They are your garments and ye are their garments. Allah knoweth what ye used to do secretly among yourselves; but He turned to you and forgave you; so now associate with them, and seek what Allah Hath ordained for you, and eat and drink, until the white thread of dawn appear to you distinct from its black thread; then complete your fast Till the night appears; but do not associate with your wives while ye are in retreat in the mosques. Those are Limits (set by) Allah. Approach not nigh thereto. Thus doth Allah make clear His Signs to men: that they may learn self-restraint.

if we are here in the states, what time does fasting start and finish???

any help on that?

It depends on where you are. Stick your zipcode into Islamicfinder, and it will give you the prayer times for your area. You stop eating and drinking at fajr, and can resume at maghrib.

I was and basically still am totally broke, but what I did was took a picture of a cut that I liked to SuperCuts. I spoke to a woman there when it wasn't too busy and said I wanted this cut...she said, "are you sure?? It's really short." We dialogued back and forth, but finally agreed on what was in the picture, and what would work with my hair. It turned out great. I even went a little shorter about 2.5 months ago and I'm very happy. I, too, love spa days...so I'd rather spend a few extra dollars on my toes than my hair. ;)

Thats a good idea! I'm going to try it out and especially the part about bringing a picture in. I'd feel more comfortable if they knew exactly what I wanted.

As for spa days....OMGoodness! There is an amazing spa here (well tons in Arizona)...I am dying to hit up Sedona and spend a weekend there!

That's where I'm at! (SD/OC) Plan to just reeeeellaaaaxxx and unwind, especially after the latest events..... I've been working my entire summer (haven't even been kissed by the sun, and I literally live 2 blocks away from the beach!).

Maybe try to schedule an appointment for a facial or something. I have never had one before. I worry I would end up getting the wrong kind, lol! Help, ladies?

Originally, I had planned on taking a trip to London -- but too expensive at this point, or to Puerto Rico... I was like "SWEET DEAL with hotels and everything!" -- then realized it's Hurricane season!! D'oh! :bonk::lol:

Cool...I love your area. 2 blocks from the beach...I'm moving in! Do you have room? (there are 4 of us) You do need to unwind and a facial would rock! I would ask the esthetician about your skin type etc. A good spa/esthetician(which southern cali has as well!!) will help you pick after you tell them what you want...just relaxation or to actually clean out your skin.

Enjoy your time girl! Have a blast and there are great deals out there if you're willing to ride out a hurricane! I'm sure you could find something fun...try Priceline or Expedia...they are always running specials. What about Vegas? Now there is some fun! Catch a show, spas there too....fun times!
