ash, I know what you mean, I hate days like that...the days where you barely have enuf time to brush your teeth and get dressed...then you spend the day feeling "incomplete"

staashi...the thing is, i had short hair my whole life..i was an athlete in high school and some of college so, short hair was soo easy..when i met sofyan, i just started growing it out, and dont get me wrong, I LOVE my long hair (when i do it) its just such a pain in the butt....Im afraid if i cut it i wont be happy and it took me 3 years to grow it this long

(

Maybe you could cut 10 inches off for that "Locks of Love" program...you'd feel good about your donation, but it wouldn't be so short that you'd have to give up having "long hair". So it'd still probably be in the middle of your back, no? Probably much easier than what you have now.

Kelly I just cut about 4 inches off my hair 2 weeks ago. It's still past my shoulders, but much easier to deal with. I have very fine hair, so it tangles easily. I want to cut it all off, but Simo is dead set against that one. He says it would take me just as long, if not longer to get ready with short hair lol. I have no time in the morning to mess with it. I get out of the shower and up it goes all day, almost every day.

I'm glad someone knows what I'm feeling.. hehe Thanks Kelz!!

And I agree with Staashi ( I think? LOL I'm having a hard time reading this morning) But I would not cut it super short if I were you. I had really realllly long hair (ask Nawal) and for some stupid reason I decided to go and wack it all off.. I cried in the chair while the girl did it - I thought that I was ready but I was NOT. I saw all these girls with short hair and it was soo cute and I thought I want that too!! I'm tired of dealing with the blow drying and straightening and all the mess... But wow I was so not ready

I would suggest that you do it in stages.. If it's down to your butt.. Then cut it but leave it well past your shoulders.. Go that way for a month or two and if you feel brave, do a bit more... But once it's gone, it's gone and you can't put it back on.

I just keep telling myself, it will grow, it will grow.

It's at my shoulders now, so not really super short, but it's killing me.. Like watching grass grow :P

Ok, I've had the "visitor" for 3 weeks now but don't see an end in sight. What do I do about Ramadan? I have a feeling that I'm gonna have to make up the whole month :crying: and I reeeeeeeeeally don't wanna have to do that. Any way around this? I'm thinking about calling my gyn and inquiring about b/c pills again...

 I might get kicked for this.... And I need to go and find the back up reading/research to what I am saying, BUT

I have read before that you can fast while you are on your period, but you can not pray or touch quran.... Again let me go and find that information.. But I read it because of a similar problem last year and it said that if you have an abnormal cycle or something that goes more than a normal 6-7 days you can fast and that even in some instances there is a procedure for prayer during that time (?) It had to do with ghusl (spelling? ) and binding yourself, etc... But the same place I read that, Egyptian scholar was saying that fasting is part of Islam and that praying is part of Islam and that it is not required in all cases for you to pray to have your fast accepted.. I hope someone else knows what I am talking about and that I don't get kicked for this.. But I went through something very similar last year and talked with some people about and researched it... But I'm at work now and my research is at home.. So if someone doesn't chime in with more information before I get there, I will PM it to you!!!

I hope that you are feeling better soon!!!

I had read that somewhere but haven't been able to find it to re-read it again so I know if my fasting will be accepted or not. Thanks for the rapid respons...I just can't stand the thought of having to make it up later....

I'm about to call my hematologist... just realized I have petichia again which means my platlet levels are dangerously low and I'm probably anemic again :(

I was afraid that fasting would effect my blood levels, but I was hoping to make it a little longer than 1 1/2 days before having side effects  ... just hoping I don't end up relapsing again bc being exhausted all day and achy really sucks! (and that's with no fasting  )

Well from what I understand women don't have to fast during their periods because Allah (swt) did not want to make a hardship for them and wanted to make Islam easy on them ...... It's not because of the same "unclean" reasons that woman shouldn't pray or touch quran during their cycles ... Meaning it does not say you shouldn't fast because you are unclean..

Again dang being at work and not having all the information at my fingers but I am going to get it for you. I am sure that others are going to totally disagree.... But I even remember talking to Jihed about this and getting a big speech about fasting being one part of Islam and prayer being another part of Islam and that Allah accepts a fast even if someone did not pray, but on judgment day he will ask them to account for the fact that they did not pray... Or if they prayed but did not fast, again their prayers are accepted but they have to account for why they did not fast...

I think God knows your heart and what is inside... What does your hubby think? .... You have my mind going and as soon as I get a sec I'll see if I can find something from work...

Happy 2nd day of Ramadan! I haven't been able to start my Ramada yet if you get my drift  haha. But Alhamdulillah! I made breakfast last night for Tarik. When he walked in the door I had everthing on the table (we had Kifta Mmmmm yummy!) He stopped with his mouth open and said "Is this Morocco?" :) That made me so happy! It has to be hard to be away from your family during this special time. When he said that, it made me feel like he feels like he's home. As he was eating he would "yell into the other room" for his family just like he was in Morocco (I know it sounds like he's crazy but it was funny and it filled my heart to the brim! :)) And he made me Moroccan Mint Tea. Mmmm it really was like being in Morocco :) Even I miss Ramadan in Morocco but now, we get to start our own Ramadan traditions. Inshaallah this will be a great Ramadan :)
