Good morning everyone! And happy 2nd day of Ramadan ... is everyone holding up ok? I am not fasting (doctor's orders) but still I am not sure how long I can keep up this work/sleep schedule ... barely sleeping I want to nap now but i am afraid I won't wake up ... then miss my dr appointment in 1,5hr.

I ate too much zlabia last night, a whole piece ... couldn't sleep my tummy hurt so much! Where is that pink stuff when you need it? No more sweets for me!

Happy Tuesday MENA! Wishing you all a great day! Its the day after a holiday so I'm sure I will feel so blah at work!

Well, it happened! Hazem was bitten tonight by a baby scorpion. He's in so much pain. I can tell by the way he's rolling around in bed. He's freaked and so am I about the babies. He'll be fine soon enough. The lil bug guy said we'd see activity the next few days, that was Thursday. Now I'm paranoid and want to move. Is that crazy to want to leave? I feel like they will never be gone. I can't sleep.

Henia I was the same way the last few weeks. Sweets made me very happy! Then later at night I paid big time! Tums were my best friends! I ate them like they were going out of style! hope your Dr appt goes well.

Other than the freak scorpion attack which I'm sure you all are sick of hearing about....Ramadan is going just fine. Fasting was okay till the last 2 hours. Grrr. But breakfast ROCKed! Hehe.

Oh Wow! I love those wedding photos, especially her dress! Who is Khaled? Oh they are wearing very expensive gold! Can they do that? I want her wedding dress! It's gorgeous! Her makeup looks well done as well.

Awe the kids are back to school! Yeah!

I'm doing ok so far. I got a laptop at home so I can tap the internet in our building during the winter instead of trekking through the snow to go to campus or a coffee cafe. My classes seem alright but a lot of homework! I have three broadcast classes and two media history related classes. My Global Media class taught by a man from Nigeria. My media history prof I like and the other three classes are programming and production type classes which are a lot of work and I've had both those professors before. My broadcast classes will be producing live television starting in October. We have 6-7 shows to do for PBS. That should be busy and fun!

In my Borah Foundation meeting I was voted co-chair and we have our keynote speaker already confirmed and plane tickets lined up, which are outrageous now. We need to get other speakers and we're looking at the McMasters people in Canada and the WHO. We're doing a unique theme for war&peace this year that hasn't been done before by the foundation. I just hope this isn't my funeral.

Yeah he's in big time pain. Who knew it can take up to one week 4 the pain to go away! Gross. It was a baby scorpion and they don't know when 2 stop stinging you! So he was stung 3 times on his thumb.

I'm off 2 try and sleep before work in about 3 hours. Yikes. Ramadan snd working early do not go together!

Ash if you read this don't tell anyone in Egypt about the scorpions. Lol. A particular big mouth will scare Momma!

Happy Tuesday Y'all. I'm so tired...I was an idiot last night and watched The Hills from 9:30 to 10:30, then showered and read some of my book. I was asleep by 11:30 but woke up at 5:50. Why oh why did I stay up????

No disrespect to any of y'all that are up with the chickens to get something to eat...I'm just really worn out and I want to be back in bed.

good morning everybody! well, yesterday was just fine until about 10 minutes after breaking fast. AF decided to come back for a 3rd week (she just left the day before Ramadan). She came back with a vengence too.

Sucks about the scorpion stings. I haven't had one but i HAVE been stung by wasps, bees, and hornets so I can imagine that a scorpion sting would be like those, only worse! I hoep he feels better soon.

I want to get the Rosetta Stone set. It's like 500 dollars!!! If any of u want it too, maybe those of us who want it can attempt an "operation MENA money" thing and between all of us we can easily get enough to purchase it??? I'd be happy to make copies (once purchased of course) and send them out to all who donated to the cause.... LET ME KNOW IF UR INTERESTED and we'll see if its possible to come up with enough between us all to get it!!!

Morning MENA folks!!

After a nice day yesterday...we cleaned, went shopping, went to downtown chicago, etc, I am SO SAD to go back to work today I only have to work today and tomorrow then im off thursday and friday for zaids shots...at least i have days off to look forward to...

Hope fasting is going well for everyone...there is no ramadan going on at my place...
