Have you checked using the Immigration Timelines on how long approximately you will have to wait for an interview once your case is forwarded to NVC? Is the NVC schedualing your interview or is the Consulate? You can do your police certificates ahead of time without waiting for packet 4 that you will eventually recieve from the Consulate. You will need to wait for packet 4 with the instructions/forms before you can do your medical as they do require the forms. I tried to use downloaded/printed out forms because my packet was sent to my US husband and hadnt arrived to me in time for my medical appointment. They wouldnt accept them. Luckily they had other forms there that they could use for me in place of.

You can’t get your medical done without ‘letter from embassy’. Embassy of United States in Islamabad has appointed a panel of doctors in all big cities of Pakistan (i.e. Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore) and they required a letter which will come along with several other documents in packet 3.5 (CR1/IR1) or packet (3/4) for K1/K3 cases.

You can try to get a police report ahead of time.
