I might be simple, but I don't listen to anyone who's name is T. Boone Pickens. Just my own personal philosophy.

PS: I'd like the mustang to run on jet fuel - more vroom for my buck.

PPS: We have people who can't light their natural gas furnaces safely here with a match - I sure as sh*t don't want one million of them flying down the road on a metal clad rocket with natural gas excreting from their rears.

He's spending his money to inject an issue of vital importance into the national discourse. For that, and that alone, I applaud the guy.

I worked for T. Boone from 1990 - 1998 at his Mesa Petroleum Corporation in the offshore production division. He invested heavily in drilling for natural gas offshore in the early 1980's, but his timing was off. He lost his azz on that venture. The price of natural gas tanked and stayed flat for a long period. He had another subsidiary that developed and sold conversion kits to retrofit cars to burn LNG (liquified natural gas), but it never took off because while natural gas was cheap...so was gasoline. The company cars and trucks for the offshore division were set up to burn LNG, but there was only one station in Lafayette, LA that had a fueling station. It has since closed due to lack of interest. Mesa Petroleum no longer exists.

However, T. Boone is still a wealthy businessman.

Yes...timing is everything. Maybe he was too ahead of his time back then and the same trick will work the second time around. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. If anyone has experience with natural gas vehicles, it is T. Boone Pickens. He has been at it a long time. Hopefully he has learned from his mistakes.
