? about I-797 Notice of Action question on dates

:blink:Im sure it doesnt matter at this point in the process for me but im sure others would like to konw the difference between receipt date and priority date......I sent it oct 20 2007 my priority date is shown as oct 25 2007 receipt date is down as jan 16 2008. Does anyone know the answer to this?

On August 16 my case was transfered from Vermont Service Center to the California Service Center but it was approved day before???? Wow thats efficency!!!! hahahahahhahahaha

NVC Received : 8/22/2008

NVC Mailed me I-864 Bill 8/29/2008

Had wife send DS-3032 email as intructed by NVC personel 09/02/2008

Received Conformation email for DS-3032 09/02/2008

Received DS-3032 / I-864 Bill : 9/4/2008

Pay I-864 Bill online 9/4/2008

Payment cleared I-864 09/05/2008

Receive I-864 Package :

Return Completed I-864 :

Return Completed DS-3032 : Had wife mail a copy of this to NVC to back up email.....09/05/2008

Wife receives email that DS-3032 was accepted and I am agent and notice I will receive bill 09/10/2008

Look at bill page online and see bill for IV 09/10/2008

Receive IV Bill :

Pay IV Bill Online : 09/10/2008

Receive Instruction Package :

Case Completed at NVC :

NVC Left :

Consulate Received :

Packet 3 Received :

Packet 3 Sent :

Packet 4 Received :

Interview Date :

Visa Received :

US Entry :

Estimates/Stats : Your I-130 was approved in 300 days from your filing date.

Onto your question...

In a perfect world, the priority date and receipt date are the same.

In your case, it appears they physically received your application on Oc. 25th,2007, and it SHOULD have been put into the system then.

However, they received it into the system on Jan. 16, 2008

So even though they were slow to put you into the system, they still recognize that your priority should be the same as anyone whom they received an application from on Oct. 25th, 2007
