question regarding G325a

Just started out on what seems to be the long journey towards the Fiance Visa, this is the first in what will probably be one of many questions I have over the future months :-)

My fiance is a U.S citizen and I am in the UK, so I realise that the first part of the application is mainly to be completed by her, though I have to complete a few forms. I have been completing the G325a this evening and have read advice on how to complete it properly trying to ensure I dont make any mistakes. One question I have is that I have been working for 4 years, but was a student before that. Should I add that I was a full time student in the section Applicants Employment Last five years? as otherwise my employment history would be a year short. It seems trivial, but I dont want to get any aspect wrong.

All help very much appreciated.

thanks

Yes you should account for the entire five years, including any gaps (for those reading that may have had a spell of unemployment).

thanks for that. just as one question is answered and other ones come up :-)

I am getting passport photos taken today. Do they have to be US size ( 2inch x 2inch) or can I send in the standard UK passport photos which are slightly smaller with the I-129f.?

also the supplement sheet which my fiance writes about how we met etc - does that have to be in any particular format ( with addresses of the USCIS and To whom it may concern ) or can it just be titled "SUPPLEMENT: PART B, QUESTION 18" at the top? with a few paragraphs below on where and how we met? I havent found any examples to guide me..

thanks a lot..

US sized passport pictures.

We just wrote "SUPPLEMENT: PART B, QUESTION 18: How you and your foreign fiance/e met" or however the question was phrased.. a couple sentences about how we initially met online and then broken down into sections of visits.

:)

Oh Dear. I only wrote down my employment. I left out the fact i was at school for a year after that. then unemployed whilst spending a year or so visiting the states back and forth.

is this a big deal?

we have already sent it out.

I hope it isnt going to be too much of a problem :(

It shouldn't cause any problems.

We simply put "Unemployed" for my fiancee (USC) with the time frames. For myself, I put "Unemployed" with a footnote with my dates of school.

It really doesn't matter though what the reasons are/were for unemployment, just so long as you account for the years on the form.

oops.

yeah we didn't write any of that. we just wrote the jobs we had and nothing else. oh dear.

well hopefully it isnt a major issue.

i hope this is the only thing we got wrong. i keep coming across little things we did different and i start panicking.

such as the passport photo size thing, i read they have to be american size? well i had them done here in the UK, so im guessing they may be the wrong size :(

Did you give the past five years of employment with dates?

That should be all that's needed.

Figners crossed for the UK sized photos... I think it explains the requirements for US size in the guides though.

Get the right photos for the interview but don't worry about the USCIS end. They aren't really picky on the photos submitted with the petition because they are only for reference. At the Consulate stage, they are actually part of the visa itself.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
