This story definitely has substance and any American should at least be aware of her affiliation with this organization....and find out just where her loyalty stands with the U.S. of A..

It's laughable to believe Palin is trying yank Alaska out of the union. Loyalty? Is this where you start to question her patriotism? Have you now or have you ever been a member of the Alaska Independence Party?

Damn, I almost forgot Wright was on Obama's campaign an advisor on spiritual matters so he was fair game.

All the Indonesia and Muslim rumors started with Hillary's campaign and I haven't heard anyone from the McCain refer to Obama as a Muslim. That rumor took off on its own later and around 10% of the people still believe it.

The AIP is a joke that got it's moment of glory when Governor Hickel stole the election in 1990. Since that day, and the murder of it's most influential member, it's pretty much been diminished to a couple extremists hiding out in the wilderness. I don't even think they had one candidate running in this year's primary, which was last Tuesday night.

But, talk of secession from the US isn't all that uncommon up here. It usually happens when some court decision made on the East Coast negatively impacts Alaska. Like the Exxon Valdez decision.

I personally don't think that this is that big a deal, nor is her daughter having a baby. What's really scary is that people are once again being swayed to her for her looks and charm and totally overlooking her lack of substance.

Nah, it's too crazy to believe. Try finding the post where I accuse Obama of wanting sharia law or an Islamic republic in America. Good luck in finding it.

By contrast, I've seen a few libs on this forum who claim the Republicans want sharia law in America.

If that woman has had years of experience in government, she'd be called the representative of same old politics . And by none other than fellow democrats! You know, they're very big into fresh faces in politics and yes, different kinda politics.

Wow , Sarah Palin has proven that she could not only challenge but overcome establishment politics by challenging and then over throwing the incumbent of his own party!!

Wow! what feat! And all that without hanging on to a dirty big city political machine.

She indeed represents Change We Can Believe In !!!

You're really stretching here. The stuff about Wright was out there for months but was ignored by most the media. By contrast, Palin has been in the race for 3 days for and we are getting all stories how she was Alaska to secede, force creationism in all schools and now the pregnant daughter stuff. I've never seen anyone in a presidential race get trashed so much so quickly. If she wasn't a threat to the Dems would just say nothing now and let her have it later when it's too late to replace her.

Welcome to...the shoe is on the other foot. I agree with the sentiment that many things that will continue to be brought to the surface will be silly (pregnancy controversy for example), however, in terms of questioning her loyalty, that is no less fair than what was thrown at Obama - his decision to stop wearing a flag pin lapel, the allegations that he wouldn't put his hand over his heart during the national anthem, his wife's claim of 'finally being proud to be an American', his alleged Muslim upbringing, etc. Seriously, those of you who hardly and winced when that sh!t was thrown at Obama and especially those who even entertained such silly nonsense of questioning Obama's patriotism have absolutely no room to talk. The reality is, that like the criticism of Obama not being vetted during the Primaries, Sarah Palin is for most Americans, someone they don't really know anything about, including a majority of the media and politicos alike. I'd suggest taking a chill pill, sit back, kick your feet up and accept that what comes arounds goes around. Hopefully though, at the end of the day, this election will be fought and won by who has the best ideas and policies for moving the country forward.

The Dems are alreadygetting desperate by bashing Palin's daughter. This tactic bombed when Kerry (or was it husband-of the-year Edwards?) brought up Cheny's lesbian daughter.

Who is expected to be more responsible: a 17 year-old from a conservative household or a 50 year-old president who was having sex (well oral sex) and lying about it with sworn testimony leading to impeachment proceedings?

Most of ####### about Palin's daughter smacks of something like, "Hey, I'm not racist but a lot of people are so we can't have Obama on the ticket." Classy.

Remember all the people said the candidates' families are off limits?

That's the best you got there? How about if you can't effectively project your values onto your family, how can you be expected to project them on a nation? If you can't control matters in your home, how will you control matters in the government? Those are legitimate questions.

You think so? You realize Obama's mother was only 18 when she became pregnant with him?

It's amazing to me how much unreconstructed sexism I have been from the Democrats in this election cycle. From young, groovy guys who think they are progressive. I have never felt so alienated from the people in the party I normally vote for than I have after this weekend.

Voting for a woman - just because she's a woman - I don't think that's what the suffragettes had in mind when they were marching for the right to have a say in government.

I guess November will decide who she was/is a threat to. IMO I think she was a terrible choice for running mate.

Being a member of any fringe political party does raise some worrying questions.

I'm not bothered about the thing with her daughter - too much play is made of things like that, that are simply irrelevant at the end of the day.
