How much of a rise in sea levels will put your home underwater?

Use the sea level rise dropdown at the top left hand corner of your screen to figure it out. It only goes up to 14m, so if your place doesn't flood at those levels, tell us what other impact (if any) you can tell that kind of rise would have on your life.

For me, my place doesn't flood at 14m, BUT all my access roads to the outside world go underwater at about 12m.

Yeah I just zoomed in a little more.. turns out at 14m not only are my access roads shut down but a nearby lake swells to within feet of my front door. I wonder why a lake swells from a rise in sea levels?

I know this probably wasn't the intended effect, but seeing this map makes me think that the predicted 1-3 m of rise in sea levels is really no big deal. Some rundown neighborhoods go underwater, some expensive waterfront goes under too... other than that, no real change.

well seen as i live on the romney marsh in kent, and we are technically already under the sea level, at zero its dotted + 1meter bad at +7 which it autoamtically opened on there was no romney marsh which is a big big area. but i'm not suprised at that. but suprised how far it went. cripes ashford would have a coastal town. lol

Hmmm. Well, where I am in the USA doesn't change at all. looks like instead of 10-11 hours ot the beach, my drive would get shortened by an hour. In Jordan though, big difference.

Durrrrrr check the map out of zoom, Julianna. OK, it actually makes things better LOL. It increases the Sea of Galilee to cover a huge area and takes in the Dea Sea... question is... how that could affect the freshwater life. But looks interesting.

I'm assuming you mean without going up a river I would think it would affect the rainfall and drainage. When I looked at Jordan I saw the same thing.. it predicts a joining of the Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee. Rainfall is what would change that, as the one does drain into the other.

Sweet. I'm not quite under water even at 14m although the school across the street is. I'll tell you what though my property value is like +$1,000,000 with a 12-14 meter rise
