Hey guys! I wrote to the Egyptian embassy about when we can expect an interview time, they said my husband is on a waiting list for an interview slot and they will contact me when they schedule him. It's been about a week and a couple days since we sent the packet. I just saw that some other people with Egypt timelines had theirs in a week and I got so excited lol. Does anyone have any idea about how long it might take to get off the list? Has anyone ever received a response like that before? thanks guys, this is probably a stupid question because everyone's case is different. Just wanted to bring it up as anxiety starts to kick in.

You can regularly check the immigrant visa interviewing schedule for the U.S. embassy in Cairo at: http://cairo.usembassy.gov/consular/iv8.htm

If you know your NVC number use the Find option under the drop down menu in Edit and plug in the case number. If it is on the page it will locate it automatically for you.

They update this schedule every few weeks.

well hang in there....it took us a while to get ours and others were getting theirs quickly. So I know how you feel. Also, after our interview it took a while to get our visa. When others got theirs in two weeks it took us two months. But we got it and things have went quickly since he arrived here. While it was happneing I thought we would never survive it now I never even think of it. Hang in there....."This to shall pass". Good Luck. I have included my timeline so you can see for yourself our time waiitng.
