Ack!!! You scared me

I scared the make up artist I hired for a pro photo shoot at work. My boss and swinger colleague were photographed for our press release for the launch of our new product in two weeks. While the photographer was setting up his equipment and used me as a model to measure the light and stuff, she took me aside and said - "You are such a beautiful young woman, but when I look at you, all I see are the dark cricles under your eyes!". I replied "GTFO you stupid b1tch, how dare you insult the person that hired you, you silly wench!" I smiled and said "I use concealer, it surely can't be that bad." And she said - "Oh, you need to use more! Come and let me help you." And I said "Who the fock asked you for your opinion, you ugly old hag? "Yeah ok whatever."

So she applied half a liter of the fancy eye cream which - apparently - good ol' Madonna is using (I thought it was called plastic surgery, but ok) and then she slathered the area around my eyes with a gallon of MAC concealer followed by some glittery matte powder. While she was doing that, she kept on saying - "oh, you have such wonderful skin, so clean blablabla, if people would only not get distracted by the dark circles, your skin is so thin, people can see the veins, more concealer blablabla".

Then I went back to work and I can't say I felt overly attractive. Then I pretended to do work, ordered €80 worth of trashy 80s movies and went home at 5:30pm.

Now I am here. Re the coffee "debate" - Krispie Kreme coffee for me. And regarding the American economy collapsing - I can only marry one of you - first come, first serve. :jest:

I mentioned this in another thread but I wanted to bring it up here..

did any of you watch that David Blaine thing yesterday??

what was so great about his trick at the end??.. I didn't even really know what happened until the announcer kind of explained it...

lol.. I loved when the announcer guy said " you guys in the crowd will be able to see it live and you guys at home will be able to watch it on your TV.." .....well duh

Somebody please shoot me :dead:

Starbucks is teh suck. I like Java Bean in West Seattle. Or Tully's. Or the little Ma and Pa drive through espresso stand by my school.

Ok there are too many funny as hell parts of that post to comment on them all

 I agree Lori. I was laughing my butt off at our little German girl :) I needed that!

OK, I got my first paycheck (from my teaching job) with one less class this year. Holy sh!t. We need P to get work auth and a job soon. I mean, I know I'm not in teaching for the big bucks, but this is $800 a month less. The up side is that I won't be as stressed out last year. The down side is I have to keep my second job and add more tutoring after school to keep us afloat until P starts working.

Ugh. I know it's all worth it and the strain will only be for a few more months and we certainly won't be destitute (and are far better off than many people) but it's still a little scary....

we are at that stage right now.. hubby has decided and already has applied for his old job back.. work is starting to really slow down now at his current job and he is at the bottom of the totem pole so he only gets work if there is some leftover...

so if he gets the old job back which he probably will, that means he goes back to 10 to 12 hour days....

I like Cafe Appasionato or Caffe D'arte of the medium ones. Love Tully's and the neighborhood shops. I'm thinking of getting a job as a nekkid barista LOL

nessa I have news about the cake. too much sugar...use 1/2c instead of 3/4c. bake for 40 minutes without the stuff on top. worked out great but was too sweet with the 3/4c

this is the cake that didn't have the condensed milk in it
