Hey Olivia! Good to see you up. I hope school is going well for you.

School just started last week and we had Monday off. So far I have three broadcast classes and two media/history related classes.

I looked at the Arabic Rosetta Stone today and balked at the price. They want above $500 for the complete set.

You know, I found the Rosetta Stone box. It has everything but the CD. I remember I took it out to use it, but that was in 2004 and I moved twice since then. I will continue to keep a look out for it. I've gone through the books I have too, but most are advance books though I found one so far I know you could use. I'll keep looking around.

I'm trying to decided what to do. I don't think I can afford that price. Maybe I should look on Ebay? I need to start learning Arabic before I move to Egypt. Rosetta Stone is highly recommended.

I'll keep looking, it has to be somewhere. The CD is the only thing missing.

Ramadan Kareem everyone.

Hope all of your Labour weekend was great! Been away for quite a bit!

Ah, I should probably be posting in the Tuesday's thread

I took an arabic class at the university to help me get started, after that it's been self-taught with a little help from my husband now that he's back.

You've got one more semester right? You could even try the comunity college bc it will be cheaper

olivia..you have to lose 30lbs for TV? what for TV??

just curious

I can totally relate to the time feeling like it is speeding up yet slowing down, I am glad I am not the only one, or is it because I am getting old???

Yes fall is almost here and I am not happy bout it!

yes the break from the heat is nice but we have had the most beautiful August, I hate to see it go

I would be happy if it were summer all year round

I just talked to hubby, he sounds fine this day of Ramadan but I hear a little crank in his voice...lol

i know the feeling of not being able to smoke and for him he would rather smoke than eat!

I thought of that but we don't have CC here and our Arabic prof was only here for two years on loan or something like that and we shared him with our Washington neighbor university WSU. I think Nawal has me covered for now.

Hi! I think you found us in the diet exercise thread but I'll explain it here too. I'm co-chair for the Borah Foundation this year which means I have to be on television introducing important people who come to speak at our Symposium and this is broadcast live and archived forever. So I want to look my best as possible. It's just 30 weeks away so I'm doing a diet exercise program to get ready for that. Plus my college graduation is in 36 weeks now and those pix I'll save forever so another motivation factor there. After graduation I will get to see my Husband after being apart for 2.5 years and that's even another motivation factor. Plus his family is talking about having a wedding for us this summer so now I'm really having more motivations. Oh man. I better go on my walk and eat a salad now.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

GOOD LUCK!

I think what works best is accountability..for myself too

like if we could check in with each other and chat about our progress it just encourages us to do our best and gives us a lil challenge

surprisingly I have 20 pounds to lose with say, OH, next summer is my deadline....LOL

good luck to you and thanks for the response
