Good Morning. Ramadan Kareem! Happy Labor Day! This is my first Ramadan so I am praying for strength to get through the fasting. My husband arrived safely on Thursday in Chicago. Alhumdullilah! I have a lot to be grateful for. Hope everyone has a great holiday.

I'm going out to protest the RNC today. If you see a girl in a neon green hijab being dragged away kicking and screaming by the cops, that's me The cities are crawling with police. I normally see one or 2 a week out on the road, but this morning, I saw at least a dozen patrol cars. The local jail has been turned into some kind of compound, huge concrete blocks, 10 foot high fences, corrals, and police with massive guns.

Good morning everyone!! Happy Ramadan!! This is my first time fasting so we will see how this goes. Hubby was up all night and t hen ate and prayed before coming to bed at 5 something. he tried waking me to eat, but i just wanted to sleep. Now i wish i had!!! have a good day!

Well, I guess it's not protesting the convention, it's protesting at the convention. Today is a large anti war rally that starts at the State Capital, and then marches down to the Xcel Center where the convention is. I haven't decided which group to march with yet, but my sign is tricked out in Palestinian colors.

I copied this design. The salaam is in green, and the hub is in red.

I've been participating in anti war rallies since before the Iraq war. I'm not really convinced they do anything but rally the faithful, but I would be remise if I didn't participate in this when it's right on my doorstep.

Fall is almost here.

YES! I *LOVE* Fall - my favorite time of year. Especially here in the Midwest - I'm already going apple-picking next weekend with friends for to our favorite orchard that borders Illinois/Indiana.

Mine either - LOL! As for the hurricane, so far so good. It's the quiet b4 the storm. Having suhoor now, hopefully back to sleep after a while or watching the weather. Ramadan Kareem everyone - and happy Labor Day! I'll be out of pocket for a while.

Hey all! hi Nagi and crongrats!

Noura-- keep us updated They said on the news last night that it should push up as far as us and dump 6-12 inches of rain Wednesday within a few hours. That is NOT a good ammount for us with clay soil-- will be like this spring when we had massive flooding and some people died. I live on a hillside though, so for me deciding to buy higher ground when everyone else said "buuuuuttttt it makes lawn-mowing difficult!" You're welcome to come up here if you need to go somewhere! Hillside house can fit you in!!

I'm off to take the twins for a walk (lovely weather).... Then back to put up our lights in the front of the house and then some shopping for breakfast tonight. I have tons of energy! Woohoo!
