So worried about my husband in Louisiana about the hurricane Gustav

HI Vj family,

I've been so worried since the first time I heard about the hurricane Gustav and it is pointing directly to Louisiana. My husband is in Louisiana and so near in the eye of the depression. ,and I know power will be knock down for nearly a week of probbly more.We wont talk until the power is back.

And also, I know we have fellow members from LA. Let's pray for them to be safe always.

i was watching the new this afternoon..

and they said gustav will hit new orleans some time in the afternoon tom..

they said it is twice stronger than hurricane katrina.. OMG!

govt is tryin to get people evacuated.. some go to texas, etc, etc..

the city now looks like a ghost town.. and no looters will be tolerated..

ive talked to higantengtingting, she's in somewhere in south texas right now..

and she said they might go to luftkin and stay there for a while cos of this hurricane..

she even said bread and water are out of stock at the stores now..

oh well.. that's mother nature.. let's just wish no one will be harmed after this..

this is the eye of hurricane gustav.. i looked at it just now..

If he's in Shreveport he should be fine, mhaze. That is far enough from the coast that though he'll get rain, he'll be out of the worst of it.

Gustav is now a Cat 3, which is what Katrina was when it made landfall. The storm surges are predicted to be smaller than Katrina, but of course we won't know until it hits. Try not to worry too much and know that plenty of people will be praying!

The Hr. Gustav is really stronger that Katrina. from the last news I heard, it dropped down to category 3, I pray it continuously drop.

i just read the report at noaa, they expect very little strengthening, so it should hit as a cat 3.

I hope that it lessens. My whole family is there, as well as many friends. Well, they evacuated for the most part. I left before Katrina hit, but I remember the fear and anxiety while waiting for a storm to hit. Let's just pray this one gets less intense.

If the power is out, but the cell towers are up, you should still be able to send your husband a text/SMS. This is what saved us after Katrina to be able to stay in touch until the phone lines/power was back up (though once the cell phone died, we had to wait). Hope you don't have to wait to hear from him.

After three years. New Orleans, after the destruction of the hur. katrina, is not yet fully recovered. and here again another storm. they call Gustav as the mother of all storms.

as of now cat 2 na lang..

i think it's almost the same as a tropical storm..

parang bagyo sa pinas.. siguro signal number 3..

at least it's not as strong as katrina..

lets all pray for more good news..

I feel for you Kathy. My husband will go to Lousianna tomorrow for Hurricane relief. They will be there for two weeks. Am worried too.
