As I am computing how much to make the check out for when my Wife and her K-2 child adjust status I am coming to these amounts

$930. for the K-1's I-485

$80. for my wife's biometric fee

$80. for the K-2 biometric fee

600. for the K-2

For a grand total of $ 1690.

Is this correct or am I forgetting something?

I filed I-485's for Rin and her three children in June. I did not pay $80 per child as they are under 14 years of age, so per the I-485, biometrics are not required. They did have biometrics anyway (because of EAD), but I never paid the $80 for the children. So I paid $1,010 for Rin, and $600 x 3 for the children (plus $355/child for the I-130 filed concurrently with the I-485 - an added cost for K4 visas versus K2 - ouch!). Total cost $3,875 for AOS.

Anyway, if your stepchild is under 14, the $80 for biometrics is not required.

Wife, kids, family.... if its all good, then its worth every dime. Keep up the good work. Advice to you: Don't present to your wife or her child that these asscoiated expenses are burdensome. I mentioned it one time to my wife that the "few hundreds add up to many thousands". :bonk: Result? She felt horrible and was deeply offended.:ranting: I dont know about your wife's culture, but for my wife's Ukrainian culture, my brief comment regarding the money expenses, became fighting words that she did not forget for a while. I hope I've helped.

Apparently I worded my post in a way that suggested I was "stunned" by the amount (judging from a few comments). I really was just using a little humor in my topic line.

I just wanted to know if my math was correct.

Yes it is a lot of money but God has answered my prayer of more lately so paying it is not a problem.

It's $1010 for the wife's AOS and $600 for the kids. = $1610.

Even though you are sending them all together, you should write separate checks of $1010 and $600, and paperclip them to the forms accordingly. People have gotten RFE's for writing one check for the whole thing.

Depends on the age of the child; over 14 yo and biometrics fee ($80) has to be added.
