WOW!!!! So even after all of the hassel and waiting for the CSC we almost shot ourselves in the foot after receiving the K1 Visa and almost had to start over the next day!!!! We had gone to the Helsinki airport in Finland to go the USA and were just going through security when to our absolute horror the K1 VISA which was in her passport dissapeared right at the security checkpoint!!!!!!!!!! :help:

We looked at each other and after 7 months we had this horrible sinking feeling and panic took over. Before we knew it we had made a scene with fine examples of outright panic and crawling on the floor being demonstrated in search of a K1 VISA!! The security guys were sweating and about to panic. We were feeling that we had turned our heads and someone ran off with it. Security went into panic and did not contain the scene and continued to let people check through their items despite our desperate crawling and frantic examination of everything in the room!!!

 I told the secutity guy in great irritation with a condescending flip of my hand that the VISA has to be here and look over again at our starting point!! He went to look as my fiancee was continuing to demonstrate her lady likeness and now was crawling around peoples feet trying to find a K1 VISA. Well to our great relief the security guy did find it at his third attempt and was greatly relieved. LOL We almost went into a full panic but thank God we were being looked after. Today we are here in the USA and soooooooo happy that all has worked out and we dont have to go through this again and have more fun playing with government forms and proceedures (of course there's more to come but we will not be separated anymore!!). So!!!!!!! Lesson learned and take note!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR EYES OFF YOUR PRECIOUS K1 VISA!!!! TAKE CARE OF IT AND IT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU! ;)

Umm....the K-1 visa is as fwaguy states glued to a page in the recipient's passport...it does not fall out and you search for it by "crawling and frantic examination of everything in the room."

I think if the visa is not affixed to the passport page it can be considered invalid. (Just like if the brown envelope is opened before it is handed to immigration authorities when you arrive.) Your account doesn't make sense.

I wasn't gonna mention it, but now that someone else has, what the hell!! The last time I had a U.S. visa (an F-1) it was most certainly attached to the passport page in a completely immovable manner.
