Guys plz guide me that my wife is filling for me I 864 and my mother in law is filling I 864A so does my mother in law need to send her birth certificate to prove her relation with petitioner(Daughter)?

Hi Sibtain,

I do understand what you are asking now - no, you do not need your Mother in Laws birth certificate - it proves absolutely nothing in this case. That is why I didn't understand your question - I thought you really meant your wife's birth certificate.

Why does your wife want to send it, what is her reason?

Thanx trailmix!

She told me that she called NVC and they told her to send(Mother in law BC )it to them, but now our case is in islamabad usa embassy.

My wife is sick she doesnot work since 7 years.

She's on social security she was telling me that she needs to get her W2.

These are big hurdles i m really in pain coz of long wait.

I think we are missing information here. The NVC asked your wife to send in her Mother's BC. There has to be a reason for that. Perhaps they are really looking for proof of your Mother in Laws U.S. Citizenship - in which case they will not find it in her Birth Certificate.

Might be an idea to have your wife call the NVC and ask to speak with a supervisor and find out what they are REALLY looking for.

Or is there any other document which we can use to prove her relation to her daughter?

Actually the prob is that my mother in law who has filled the I 864A,ordered her birth certificate and it is taking sooooooo long.

i wanna know that can she send any other document like her passport or domicile or somehitng else.

Coz BC is taking almost 1 month now and its very disappointing for me who is waiting sooooooo long for that document .

PLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLZZ I m waiting for early response...
