Well I just got back to the US from Japan after spending about 3 weeks with my mahal ko, It really sucked getting on the plane this morning. Hopefully I can get back to Japan to see her again in about 3-4 more weeks, but after that, I am hoping to go right after Christmas with her to the Philippines.

I know - I am lucky to get to see her when many of you probably cant so often; but returning is always depressing, knowing I wont be able to see her again for weeks or months.

That is the hardest part, getting on the plane. My last trip I got to the airport 1/2 before my flight hoping I would miss it and have to stay for another few days. Unfortunately EVA air employees are so helpful and nice they escorted me through immigration and all the way to the plane to make sure I made it on the flight :innocent:

My original plan when I got back in Sept, was to not go back til Dec for my month long stay, but then after being back a day, I realized 3 month wait would drive me nuts, hence the impromptu trip back in Nov.

I can understand how everyone is saving money, but really in the grand scheme of things happiness is always more important then money, and there will always be time and opportunity to make more money when everyone is together with the SO. I figure live life, and enjoy your time together in your SO's country, and that will bring you much much closer in the long run.

here's the link for igor's list. It's another tool to track your case as compared to others from this board. Also tells how many approvals are done in a week, etc at each service center from people on this board, very cool. =)

You were leaving from Bankok right? try 15 minutes next time  . It has been a few years, but as I recall, Bankok airport is too easy to get around.

Regarding your comment about money - I agree 100%, but everyone's situation is different. If I have any money to get me there to spend any time with her, it is worth it to me. There is always more money to be had, it is just how fast you can get it, but time is always limited. I guess finally you have the rest of your life to be together, but the rest of your life could be just a few minutes, so I say dont hold back.

I really respect the people on here that can go for so long without seeing their SO, I start getting really cranky in about a month and 2 seems like an eternity. The last three weeks was like heaven - despite being busy with work and in Japan- just that we could be together everyday. . . .

Hi Npearce124!

My sweetie lives in Washington too! In Seattle! Nice to see a fellow Vjer going to the same area. :)

Chris and I have discussed ideas on what we would like to do and are aiming for getting married sometime in July, August or September if all goes well with the timelines for receiving our Visa. We haven't set an acutal date, as you are kind of at the mercy of the Immigration Service.

I think we are leaning towards taking some family and friends to Vegas for a weekend of fun. How about you guys?

Yeah  I have a wedding dress picked out. That's the first thing I'll buy since it'll take 4-5 months to get but everything else will be tentative until he gets that darn visa in his hand, can't plan much without a finalized wedding date. =(

We are really really hoping that everything will be done by August so that we can have our wedding during the school vacations and my family from all over the world and my friends from all over America can attend. My sweety has already spoken to his pastor and the pastor says he would marry us any time we want, and if he can not any specific weekend he will find us someone that can. We are trying to organize the wedding in such a way that we can just choose the final date the moment we have the visa. (but I have my fingers crossed it will be August 8) It does mean that we have to have a lot of options, but I am blessed that I already know a lot of people in the area, and they are going to be helping with a lot of the stuff. Everyone has August 8th penciled in and are lucky that most are going to be flying from Asia, Europe and Africa, so they can change their flights without any extra cost.

If we are lucky and get everything done so early that August actually falls outside of the 90 days that we will have to get married (wouldn't that be nice!!!) we will just do a paper wedding before and then the actual wedding later.

I cant wait. I have always thought I would just have a quiet wedding, but my sweety wants a church wedding and I am getting all excited about the thought of that now.

For now, we are planning a little bit of everything. But I already bought a court dress because I might be busy in succeeding months and I might forget about it. We also have tentative church wedding date and we are going to finalize it as soon as I get to my fiance's place. Some sort of suggestions from my fiance's family and mine. B) I can't decide yet if I am going to buy my wedding dress here or in US. Then, I have to finalize the design I made for our wedding ring. That's all we have done for now. (Kinda excited... hehehe...) :P

"They" - Who are they? "They" say you shouldnt beat your kids too, but obviously "They" never met my kids! (OK, I'm joking. . . I dont really beat my kids :innocent: ).

Wedding - Hard to plan not knowing when, but something quick and simple sounds great - Vegas maybe? Gatlinburg, TN Maybe, Florida Keys maybe, Courhouse maybe - not decided, and my SO is completely not giving me any ideas - and she is the Girl. We just want to be together, so it doesnt matter so much.

I was curious though, it seems everyone is looking out to late summer or so (like August or later). When is everyone thinking they might get the Visa's? Based on what I was seeing from VJ, I was thinking end of March or early April (based on average). I am hoping to be faster than average, but . . . . who knows.

I kind of want her on the plane & here within a week or so of getting the Visa, so I am thinking April.

I posted this question before, but never got a response - anybody have any idea? Here is my question:

My Fiance is from the Philippines, but living in Japan for work currently. Her daughter is still in the Philippines. I applied for Visa for both (k1 & k3). For place for consulate, I put Osaka because that is the closest to her, but Her daughter can not travel to Japan. I didnt want the application rejected by putting both Osaka and Manilla. But I think ultimately if her daughter is required to come for an interview (sometimes required, but it seems not always), she would need to go to Manilla. Should I have added both locations or MOST importantly, is this going to be a problem - slow point??

We choose August since that is school vacations all over the world, so people will be able to travel to be at the wedding. My family cant believe that I am finally getting married and to an American as well, so they want to be there to make sure its not some huge joke  Nah - They really are happy for me and its a good excuse for all the family from all over the world to get together.

That is the one reason for choosing August. The second one is that Visa processing generally slow down over the winter (with not only lots of days off for the holliday, but also lots of people taking their vacation time) so we suspect the average is going to move back a bit. Obviously if we get lucky and get our visa on or even before the current ave. date we are not going to wait untill August. We will have a count (paper) wedding as soon as possible and then have a church wedding in August. We would rather do that than have our visa delayed and not being able to make the church wedding.

I want to be on the plane the moment I have my visa in my hand. (a lot of flights here from Korea you can change your flight date for free within a given time frame)

I wonder what makes you keep busy guys while waiting for the result of our petition. Basically, I did make myself busy long time since I met my Bebe ko because missing him is hard to handle and practicality have more essence. Although, I am working, I just feel that it is not enough to keep me so busy. So, I enrolled for graduate studies. Right now, the semester just ended and I am thinking of the topic for my thesis proposal. When the time our petition will get approval and processing all the papers, it is enough for me to finish the whole semester.

Me and my Bebe ko are just so excited in planning things for the wedding but can't do all specially that most of it are time dependent.

I'm planning but no date has been set, and it won't until I get my interview date. We will have about 6 months notice from this date.

Basically we are having a small wedding on a budget. My dress is being made by my mum after christmas and that won't take too long, I've picked my flowers (silk) so they are being ordered and delivered to Tom when he arrives back in the US next Feb. I'm only having one bridesmaid (my sister) and Tom has a gorgeous, pristine old Crown Victoria we will use for the wedding car. We are getting married in the military chapel and we'll be flexible with dates so that should be easy to book. We arn't having a reception, instead we are having a massive BBQ back at the house.
