Hey "Chuck and Grace"!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. You've got a good point in your response to my question. Me and my fiance are both engineers, then our age difference is just two years, I am 26 and he is 28, he is not ugly, just a bit chubby but I guess his weight is still normal in US preference, and I feel chubby too. Seems... perfect right? But when some people learn how we met, they were like "oh, really?... maybe I can look a partner too in internet." Well, it is kinda offending for me because the implication of their reaction is that they don't believe on the seriousness of my relationship. I don't reply on them because I feel that I don't owe them any explanation. For me, it's not everyday that I will meet someone as equal as I am.

Anyway, I am just wondering, if some people still judge me, despite of how compatible me and my fiance physically, how much more those couple you have mention (old and young, pretty and ugly) ?... tsk!... tsk!... tsk! Maybe, its a simple reason that "you can't please everybody" or maybe it is true that it's just a mere visa thing and it shows.

;):D This is just for the sake of conversation here.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL SEPTEMBER 2008 FILERS!

Sorry, I am late to post - also filed in September.

Mailed September 3rd, Received 9/5/08 and Notice date was 9/8/08. Since then - nothing :angry::angry:

CSC seems to be slow, but I am hopeful I did everything so nicely that they hurry it up - but I doubt it. Best of luck to everyone - I am calculating end of March, beginning of April before my fiance can be in teh US - that sound about right to everyone?

I will be extremely surprised if any of us ( Sept. filers ) are approved before December... but I guess you should always wish for the best! :D Jeff

I also have alot of things to get done before I can even thing about moving. On one hand it would be awesome for things to proceed faster, but on the other hand with the way the economies are right now I think I need all the time I can get to try and sell my home so I can move. Right now it is even stressful knowing that I only have until June to try and get my place sold if all remains on the 8 month or so timeline that seems to be about the norm right now and real estate is not moving at all here. It is kind of a bitter double edged sword.....I really want to be with my baby in Seattle, but I know I can not go until my place gets sold.

Yeppers!.... we need to settle everything before moving. I don't have properties need to be sold before I go but I need to present a thesis topic for my graduate studies before I leave, so that I can finish it, just on time that they will allow me to go back here in my country. I can't wait to stay with my hunny, two years of long-distance relationship is kinda hard and it isn't a joke. My career can wait. No amount of achievements can replace the happiness I feel with my hunny. :luv::D

I work on a contract basis. My current contract ends in about 2 months, then I will be visting my sweety for 5 weeks. The shortest I can sign a contract for after that is 6 months - So I am stuck trying to decide if I want to hope for the best or plan for the worst. If I get my NOA2 in the 4 to 5 months that seems to be the usual now, I would rather be home to get all my stuff sorted out for the interview, and then not have to take time of work for medicals and interviews ... but if takes much longer I will be unemployed and using the money I have saved for our new life together for living costs... but if I take the new contract and the NOA2 happens after 4 months or even faster I would be apart from my sweety for so much longer - having to be over here finishing my contract when I could be with him ... Not knowing is the worst bit!

I still have 6 weeks to decide ... maybe I will get really lucky and hear back something before that ... maybe. But I doubt my life will be that easy.

I got engaged last year. But me and my hunny wanted to follow the rules, it says that filing of fiance visa should be after 2 years of first meeting. But last year, prior to our engagement, we already wanted to file but it wasn't yet 2 years as the rules stated. Sheesh! We waited until September 8, 2008 so that we can officially file a petition.

I guess, the relationship become stronger when it undergoes some sort of hardship. Just hold on and pray for the best. Anyway when we get our visa and be with our love ones, it is worth for all the waiting.

Beni

Beni,

I would suggest you take on the additional contract, it will give you a time sink that means you wont be in my boat of spending half your life on VJ and the other half looking up info on USCIS.....

Just remember it can take 4 - 6 months for the NOA2 and then approximately 6weeks through to interview, your then looking at another 1 -3 weeks after this to actually recieve the visa in your hot little hand.

Hope that helps

 I might be wrong but my reading of the petition application documentation is that you have to show the proof that you've met each other within last two years and not that you need to have known each other for that long. And if I'm right, you've waited to file you petition needlessly.

On the other hand, as you said, it helped you strengthen your relationship.

Good luck to you on your onward visa journey.

Hi, I have also written on the thread for the "K1 CSC sept fillers", but I wanted to say hello on this one too, if that's appropriate.

Just wanted to say, I read on the VJ stats that my visa would be adjucated sometime around feb 14th. does that mean the visa will be issued for him to come... or does that mean they'll give me noa 2, or send the visa from us to consulate ..

please expalin if you know. thanks,

BTW, I will be going to see my love over the thanksgiving holiday! WOOOO and for my birthday! YIPEEE... i can't wait.

Ticket prices are crazy also. But they DID drop as I noticed the gas prices drop. So buy your tickets now friends they seem to be cheaper!!!
