Did you guys see a touch before the approval - sept filers - karri, sarjori, etc... I have not seen any touches since 9/30.

Did it come by email or postal mail

I am getting really anxious...I need the NOA2 approval soon...

Thanks.

I got one touch, but it was the day AFTER the approval notice on the NOA2. I didn't get an email at all--in fact, my case status on the USCIS website still says "pending". I got my approval through snail mail about 5 days after the touch.

Sorry all, but I need to vent.

I've been a member on VJ for many months but have never posted much, just a few times when I had questions about the process and filling out the forms, etc.

In fact, it never really occurred to me to use this forum as a support network while waiting for the visa. I just figured - ok, it will take a few months, no problem, wait it out. After all, my honey and I have been managing a long distance relationship now for about 2 years, so we can handle this.

But this last week or so, since about New Years, has become hell! And... not to blame all of you Sept filers who got approved, since it's really not your fault, but.... yeah, that's what's making it hell

I mean, it's one thing to be waiting in line figuring that after the Junes will come the July's, then will come the Augusts, and then will come us, right?

We all thought that way. That's the inherent fairness of the FIFO system (First in first out). I'm a compsci guy, I can understand fair scheduling algorithms.

In a way it's even kind of fun to see yourself steadily moving up on Igor's list from #305 (where we started) all through the 200s and 100s.

But all that goes COMPLETELY out the window when suddenly there's a TON of approvals of people AFTER you in the queue. Where's the fairness in that?????

Sure, I know there's still Aug (and probably even July's) that are waiting. They must be feeling even more outraged than I am. But, hey, this is my rant, and everyone knows that it is all about me after all, isn't it?? (heh - joke, there).

To make matters worse, not only are the late Sept's approved, but suddenly there's a pile of OCTOBER and even NOVEMBER approvals :o

What the ???

This just sucks.

No approval. No touch. No RFE. No email. No status change when typing in my "WAC"ky number in the guvmint site.

And looking at VJ and Igor just makes things worse with, like 30 approvals on Friday and 13 yesterday, almost all of them after our date.

So, it's absolutely FREEZING in Chicago, who wants to go out to do anything? It's currently -1F (-18C) and supposed to stay that way for the rest of the week.

And my honey works shifts at the hospital in Bangkok, so no Skype with her for the next 3 days while she's working shfits that combined with the 13 hour time difference put us effectively out of touch.

And my ex-wife is being her usual b*tchy self, she's forced the kids to uninstall skype from the computer -- COMPLETELY in contravention of the divorce agreement -- but go enforce that when she's got the kids in Brazil. Don't even get me started on that front. I called the house phone 3 times tonight, no answer. Same thing last night. She's obviously screening the calls and not letting them pick up when I call. She changed the kids cell numbers to unlisted. What kind of warped logic is that??

Not to complain. Life is good. After the divorce I've managed to restart my life in Chicago, get a great job in just a short 2 month search in the midst of a horrible recession, and I'm in the midst buying a house that will shortly become the welcoming home for my honey and me to share in our love and warmth forever. Also I did have a great visit with my kids in Brazil just a few weeks ago for Hanukkah, so I know that no matter what SHE does, I haven't lost my kids.

BUT

BUT

I want my honey. Here. Now. RIGHT NOW. It's cold outside, and I really could use her warm hugs and snuggles. Failing that, I'd settle for an NOA2 as a downpayment on all those hugs and snuggles. Or at least a touch that tells me our case is not abandoned.

AND I want to be able to talk to my kids on a somewhat regular basis. Ideally, online with a webcam so I can see them, and they can see me. But I'd settle for a phone call. Is that so much to ask? Especially since it's part of the divorce agreement?

Ok, my rant is finished.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

Good luck to all, in whatever stage of processing you happen to find yourself, and may you be reunited quickly with your intended for a full and happy lifetime and beyond.

WE ALL NEED TO VENT SOMETIMES

And... not to blame all of you Sept filers who got approved, since it's really not your fault, but.... yeah, that's what's making it hell

Wait, dont blame us, blame October and November! We are on your side! You never hear them say come on September approvals, quite the self centered group huh?

So, it's absolutely FREEZING in Chicago, who wants to go out to do anything? It's currently -1F (-18C) and supposed to stay that way for the rest of the week.

Detroit area too - really sucks. Your Fiancee (like mine) I guess will have a difficult time to adjust. She tells me she likes the cold, but she only is dealing with cold in Japan - generally 40-50 degrees with a few days below freezing, but warms right back up again.

And my honey works shifts at the hospital in Bangkok, so no Skype with her for the next 3 days while she's working shfits that combined with the 13 hour time difference put us effectively out of touch.

Dont know how you stand it. I get cranky if I dont talk to my Fiancee daily - and I got the same 13 or 14 hour time difference (3 when she is in Philippines, 14 when she is in Japan).

And my ex-wife is being her usual b*tchy self, . . . . Not to complain. Life is good.

Well, I got one of those too, but you seem to have a pretty good attitude about it. I get to seem my kids a few times a week fortunately, but the b*tch still manages to irritate the sh*t out of me.

But all in all, I cant complain too much either - I am happy to finally be happy - my fiancee does that for me. Cant really remember ever being happy before - I was married to that b*tch so long I didnt even look both ways before I would cross a street.

You're right! Thanks man.. that feels much better already, to have a target to unload upon. BLEAH Oct & Nov... you guys suck

Yeah, I've been warning her about it. All she's ever experienced is Thai weather, never seen snow. I suppose we're all lucky in that our SOs are likely to get their US entry in late spring so they can enjoy an nice 6 months or so before having to deal with next winter. But, sure enough, they'll need to deal with it.

Dont know how you stand it. I get cranky if I dont talk to my Fiancee daily - and I got the same 13 or 14 hour time difference (3 when she is in Philippines, 14 when she is in Japan).

Well, at least we have text messaging on our cellphones. That's always the stopgap when we can't use the computer. She just texted me now :P

I hear you. Good luck. Out of curiosity, how are your kids reacting to the idea of Dad bringing in his new bride from overseas?

Actually, pretty well. I took them both with me to the Philippines just after Christmas, so they got a chance to meet her in person. Both seemed to like her just from the internet, but after meeting her in person, they really do like her. Taking them to meet her was a good idea and I think a really good experience for them to go the the Philippines (and not the tourist part).

I sent my Packet 3 Checklist to the embassy today, now it is just waiting to get the interview scheduled.

How is everyone else doing on their Packet 3?

I think we have almost everything ready except the medical and the police Certification. But she has still been in Philippines trying to get stuff for her daughter to attend, so not ready yet. She will to back on Friday, so depeding on how long Police Cert takes, (1-3 weeks normal) and if we can get the Japan Visa for her daughter, then . . . Who knows? I will wait for the next problem before I make any predictions.
