I have heard both ways, but it seems to me they seem to give preferential treatment to the people in the service - Dont get me wrong, I am not complaining about that, If I was in a potentially life threating situation from my country, I think that is the least they could do. But I wonder if that is why you got a response so quickly. They promised me a responce on the 17th, but i still dont have anything.

I tried to send a faxt to the Director today with a letter, but the number I found (couple of places on VJ) didnt answer.

i talked to someone around noon today and she was trying to be helpful, but the system was having problems. I explained my situation and she transferred me to a supervisor - who was completely useless. I tried again this afternoon and the system was still down. The guy told me they would be open until 6:00 PM, so I ASKED - Eastern, Pacific, what - he said NATIONWIDE - So I said, OK there is a big difference betwen Eastern and Pacific time, so do I actually have until 9:00 PM - He said yes. So I was giving them time to get the damn system going, I just called again and it says to call back between 8 and 6! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.:angry::angry::angry:

I am getting irritated!!!!!!!!! I am generally pretty mellow, but yesterday when I called, the guy couldnt even tell me that it was possible for him to track the Expedite Request number they gave me. Today the lady said they could, but the system was down. Tomorrow is another day I guess.

There doesn't seem to be any kind of customer service going on down there. My poor fiance had to stay up one night and be on the phone for hours to finally get through to someone who knew what they were doing. Our visa was expidited due to medical reasons of our son, not simply because my fiance is in the military. My fiance was transferred to 7 different people, each time having to explain the situaiton over and over again. Eventually he was told there was a dedicated number for deployed military personel. He then had to stay up again the following night to call that number. Whilst I know you maybe frustrated that we got such a prompt response, but this maybe due to our son having a birth abroad certificate and US passport and is therefore a US citizen who is quite ill. I'm sure you will hear something soon.Good luck!

Thanks. I hope you didnt take my comment in the wrong way - I am happy that you got a prompt response & I hope your son will be OK. The reason I mentioned the military was just from what I have seen on a few posts and whenever I call USCIS, they always ask me if I am military or not. Maybe there is nothing to it, but as I said, even if there was, I wouldnt really mind.

My expedite request is for basically the same reason, but my child is not yet born yet. However the doctors found an irregularity on the fetal stem :crying: , so I am trying to expedite the request so her and our child can get the best medical treatment.

Since they expedited your request out of the service center, did they tell you about next steps yet? Are you call each place to expedite the next steps? I am kind of wondering after CSC if I need to keep calling at each stage to request the expedite.

Damn, We are still a quiet group  . Anybody got anything to share?

Looks like July is starting to move, August wont be long. Seems we are on track for Late January early February NOA2's.

Apparently Sept is just full of the smart quiet types - better listeners than talkers. But I guess looking back if we were all really smart, we would have filed a lot sooner - we could be done with this awful waiting already!

guys guys guys! I do not have the skills to make such bread! It was the weekly special at the grocery store.

With all this free time on your hands while you wait, I thought maybe you learned those skills. You got lots of time to become a master baker in the next couple of months before your Finacee is here. Practice Practice Practice.

Anybody else learning any new skills while they wait?

I have been studying Tagalog. Everyone from the Philippines tells me it is easy, but I think that is because THEY ARE FROM THE PHILIPPINES!!!!!!!!!!! I generally learn quickly, but other languages is not my strong suit. I studied Spanish 3 years in High School - that helps with my tagalog, but I couldnt really carry on a conversation in Spanish, but I can read about 60% so it also helps when I travel to Mexico.

I have been trying to learn Japanese for about 14 years (OK, not trying real hard, but trying). I still have a limited vocabulary. Now I am using Rosetta Stone for the Tagalog. I am already up to unit 4 in the first level, so I am supprised how much I have learned. The problem is, when I see it, or hear it, I basically understand it, but I cant remember enough words to speak it so well yet and when the sentence is not one that I know, I dont know the proper sentence structure yet.

But if anyone is trying to learn a language, I think Rosetta Stone is the most effective way I have ever seen.

Last night, I was talking with my Fiancee and she asked me what I am drinking in tagalog, I just answered - I knew what she said. So PROGRESS!!!!!!!! haha

I have been skipping the typing sections on Rosetta stone, so maybe writing the words will help me to remember them better. Funny, but even when I remember the words, I realize I can spell worth a #### in tagalog either. Who knew spelling would be such a problem.

Well I got about 34 days before I go back to the philippines, so I hope my skills improve significantly before then. I have only had the course for about a month, so maybe I can finish all of unit 1 before I go.

We are September filer too. Still wishing to get the NOA2 before this year ends.

I love teaching my pangga some tagalog words and phrases. He always make me proud everytime I hear him say a complete Tagalog sentence. We have so much fun doing our tagalog lessons and he is doing very well.

It will be December next week..time is running fast and I cant wait to be with him. As for now, we try to keep ourselves busy to make the waiting bearable.
