Ouch ...its -8 (celcius) in the hallways of my school right now! And my fiance is worried about me moving to Colorado. Still no snow here, but I heard it has snowed in other places here in Korea.

Only 1 week and 1 day left before I get to go visit my sweety. I can't wait. But my life is suddenly chaos.

A short history: I am a South African living and working in Korea for the last 6 years. I work as a teacher on 1 year contracts. We have been debating since we filed if I should sign another contract or not. (I can do a 6 month contract.) Since the processing time seems steady at 4-5 month to get a NOA2 we have decided to hedge out bets. I have signed a 6 month contract, but I am packing everything up and leaving it at my brother's house. If its stays like that I will not go back to work (luckily I have a friend who will either step into my job, or - since its a high turnover time - just find a different school, I dont want to leave my kids without a teacher) We really dont want me stuck in a contract for 3-4 months after I have my visa. This last 3 months appart was bad enough. SO instead of a 6 week vacation with my sweety I might be there for 2 months or more untill my NOA2 arrives

Now I have to hope that the processing time stays about the same (or gets faster :D ) and that the Korean Embassy understands and accepts that I think of Korea as my home now and when I filed I honestly expected to be there working there at the interview time. (we had just checked the UCIS website and it said that a NOA2 would take at least 7 months)

So this weekend I will be packing my life into boxes ... I have a stack of about 20 boxes! Lets hope its enough :P

Hiihiii!!!!!!!we'll live in colorado!!! its wonderful there!!!

So, how did you meet your SO...

I met him in an online chat room. I was interested in learning Hindi and he was willing to teach me. =D

Here's my questions for today: How many times have you met your significant other in person? Do you think that will play a part in your approval or how fast you'll get approved? Did you meet your so's parents? Are they supportive?

I will start. I have met Sam twice in person. I hope that will be enough to support our case. I stayed with his family, Mom Dad and Sis and they adore me and are very supportive of us and our hapiness. =) My parents on the other hand

Hey! I wanted just to let you knoe that what happened to u about your expedite happened to us too...they could see the request was pending and they told us they sent us an email but we never received it...thats why we sent the fax without waiting more time!!! If you want this is the fax number for expedite process 949 389 3441

I hope I could help u!!

And just to introduce us...I'm 26 and Rocky is 31...he got divorced in August and he has 2 boys 13 and 9 years old..the oldest one will live with us I already meet them and thanks God its seems like we will have a wonderfull relationship!!

Its getting so cold here in Italy but it seems like it's not going to snow just yet..uff...I LOVE SNOW!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Giuly & Rocky (G&R - I like G&R - Guns & Roses if your not familiar).

I will probably follow up again tomorrow. The fax # you listed was what they gave me too - I already sent info, but I since I dont really know what they want, it was just an assumption of their request - I hope it is enough.

Regarding how many times I met my Fiancee - No Idea, Not enough, but alot. I would guess 20-30 times.

I met her about 4 years ago, friend of a friend. I was married at the time, but my relationship was ending with my wife. I tried to make it work, but finally last year I gave up and got divorced this year. Anyway, my fiancee and I had met, only as friends, many times - then I lost track of her for about a year. I visited Japan again and by accident, I ran into her again. It had been so long since I had saw her, I didnt really recognize her. But it was like love at first sight - really. We talked that night, but I left the next day. I couldnt stop thinking about her.

When I went back, I tried to find her again, but couldnt. So the next time I looked again - No Luck. So I assumed she had returned to the Philippines again, and I would probably never see her again. Then on my last night in Japan, I ran into her again by accident - I took no chances this time, got her number and told her when I was back I would call her and email her when I was coming back.

We talked all night (until about 7 AM), then I returned to my hotel and packed and came back the the US. We began emailing each other after that. I asked her for a date when I returned to Japan again, but she was reluctant - finally she granted my wish, but due to timing conflicts, we were only going to have about 15 minutes for our date because she had to work. But our 15 minute date was going so well, she called in to her work to go in several hours late. I met her again after work and we talked more. After that, our relationship developed. I have been to Japan about 12 or 13 times in the last year, and the Philippines twice to meet her family.

I have two kids (one boy - 16  , one girl - 12 :innocent: ) she has one kid (girl - 8 :innocent: ) so far ( ).

Last thing - for the new person posting - sorry, I forgot the name already - welcome to the thread. This thread tends to be a little too quiet, so please feel free to post often. :star:

Good luck to Karri and Chuck/ Grace...

I am not sure what else we can do to make the lurkers talk...There are 70 folks who have filed and updated information...Obviously, most of them have been reading this board but don't want to post...

So, how did you meet your SO...

For the lurkers, who don't post, the last ? applies - what are your ages, kids etc...'?

Well, am trying to get ppl to talk here....will at least get us past this wait...We probably have Nov, Dec..

Aldo and I met in February while I was vacationing on the Riviera Maya in Mexico. He was my waiter and we ended up exchanging email addresses after dinner. I thought it would just be fun to have a pen pal of sorts...little did I know! Within a couple of weeks we ended up chatting for hours daily on MSN and doing video calls. He comes to the US every year on a work visa, so he came up to Louisiana in April, and I went to see him first in April (met his aunt, uncle & cousins) and again in July. He came to see me in Utah in June and September...met my kids, my mom (dad's deceased) and 4 of my 6 siblings (as well as spouses & kids). My family loves him and is very supportive...even my 14 year old son who can be quite a ! Aldo went back to Mexico mid-October and I joined him for 5 days at the end of the month. I met his daughter, mom (dad's also deceased), sisters, brother, grandma, aunts, cousins, etc. They were all so wonderful to me...loved them! They are very supportive and adore me as well. So, in total I guess we've seen each other 6 times.

I am 35 and have three kids...boy (14) and two girls (11,8). Aldo is 30 and has 1 daughter (8).

So that's our story in a nutshell. :star:

Well, am trying to get ppl to talk here....will at least get us past this wait...We probably have Nov, Dec..

I met my SO in catholic chatroom when I was still assigned in the power plant. We're both engineers, almost same field, its just that he deals with millivolts and I deal with kilovolts  (maybe that's the reason why we've got so interested to each other).

Here's my questions for today: How many times have you met your significant other in person? Do you think that will play a part in your approval or how fast you'll get approved? Did you meet your so's parents? Are they supportive?

We first met last Sept 2006. Then, he visited me again Nov 2007. It had to be annually because we only have limited vacation leaves from work and it should also be during my sem break from school. He met my family and they love him so dearly :P (maybe because he is so talkative and funny).

I met my sweety in a bar. I was out with friends and he was out with friends "celebrating" the fact that his divorce came through that day. (I still tease him about that). One of my friends asked one of his friends to play pool and soon both groups were chatting. We briefly saw each other again the next weekend, but did not talk. The weekend after we ran into each other again and this time he made sure he got my phone number. After that we did not spend another weekend apart untill he had to leave Korea.

He actaully met most of my family when they came to Korea for my brother's wedding. They all really like him. I was going to meet his family over Xmas, but he cant get leave - so now we will have to wait and see. They know about me, but after 2 failed marraiges I dont think they have very high regard for his choices .. hopefully they will change their minds once they meet me.

I came to America on vacation in August and met his kids. It was a great 2 weeks and we decided we wanted to be together forever and filed for the K1 visa.

I don't think it was an accident I think it was fate. I have this quote on my profile ""Someone.......somewhere.........is made for you. No matter how far apart their paths through life may be, those made for each other always meet. When God gave them hearts, he broke one heart into two pieces & on both pieces he wrote one name. Now the hearts meet, they beat and are parted. For the time being, they wil be separated until you get the K-1 visa ;)"

I LOVE that quote!! I might have to steal it! I totally believe that too. There are no accidents or coincidences...God has a way of guiding you down the path that you are supposed to be on--even if it happens to be halfway around the world. I recognize God's hands in the whole process of our relationship. There are way too many "accidents/coincidences" to just be chance. :star:

Thanks, actually I think you are right. When I think about it - all the billions of people in this world, all the miles apart, what are the chances that I could keep meeting this same person by meerly chance? Especially considering neither one of is from that country and both of us had returned to our own countries several times. Fate, Luck, Chance, Accident, WHATEVER - I am just so lucky to have her in my life!
