They should send you a reply via your email address to both of you, and then post your pack to you.

My visa was filed on the 8th of sept 08 and my fiance who is currently deployed in Iraq requested to expedite around the 11th of november, and on the 13th we both received an email advising it had been approved and my package was being posted. I should be receiving it any day now. We are both vey excited My fiance is currently serving a 15month deployment and is leaving on the 15th of feb. So this guarantees that I will be there when he arrives. I gave brith to our son on the 22nd of July so father & son have alot of male bonding to do..Best of luck with your expedite.

I have heard both ways, but it seems to me they seem to give preferential treatment to the people in the service - Dont get me wrong, I am not complaining about that, If I was in a potentially life threating situation from my country, I think that is the least they could do. But I wonder if that is why you got a response so quickly. They promised me a responce on the 17th, but i still dont have anything.

I tried to send a faxt to the Director today with a letter, but the number I found (couple of places on VJ) didnt answer.

i talked to someone around noon today and she was trying to be helpful, but the system was having problems. I explained my situation and she transferred me to a supervisor - who was completely useless. I tried again this afternoon and the system was still down. The guy told me they would be open until 6:00 PM, so I ASKED - Eastern, Pacific, what - he said NATIONWIDE - So I said, OK there is a big difference betwen Eastern and Pacific time, so do I actually have until 9:00 PM - He said yes. So I was giving them time to get the damn system going, I just called again and it says to call back between 8 and 6! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.:angry::angry::angry:

I am getting irritated!!!!!!!!! I am generally pretty mellow, but yesterday when I called, the guy couldnt even tell me that it was possible for him to track the Expedite Request number they gave me. Today the lady said they could, but the system was down. Tomorrow is another day I guess.

Hi guys. Well I got some good news today but I'll tell you about it in a few days once it's official. On to the next topic. Is anyone doing anything interesting for the holidays next week? I'm flying to California (San Francisco) to visit my crazy family a week from today! I'll only been gone 5 days but it'll be nice to great a break for once. I'm dying for some good food for once. I got slim pickings in Cleveland. I want REAL Chinese food when I go home and maybe I can get a stash of lumpia too ;) (I grew up in a big Filipino population). Gosh, I miss the Bay area. Haven't been home in ages! I just hope my family doesn't grill me on my situation.....marrying a guy from halfway around the world without meeting him first!

Hi everybody, I posted when the thread was first started, but never came back to it....don't know why other then a really long blonde moment...I'm blonde so I can say that!! Someone posted about ages etc, well I am 42 my sweetie he turns 36 on the 25th of this month. He is the USC living in Wisconsin. I've been married before, short lived-3 years. Peter, he's never been married before. Too picky his friends and family tell me. So now its the "we gotta meet the Canadian woman to see what's taken Peter's interest!" Rather funny! Lets all keep our fingers crossed and maybe CSC will speed up and we might see some Christmas approvals!

Speaking of holidays, no definite plan yet. But most probably I will end up spending holidays with my family, which I will really treasure because I might spend it with them again after long years.

This week and the coming weeks would be very busy for me. We have lots of work this week and succeeding weeks. I have three assignments for school, in which the deadline is on the first week of December.

I know, most of us makes ourselves busy to ease burden of waiting. What keep you busy now a days, guys?

LOL noooo, in my dreams would I have that haha. Ok Ok I'll end the suspense and tell you. Part of the problem and reason why we had to wait to file was Sam's bday problem on his school certficate. For those not aware, In India, you have the option to change your birthdate in 8th year or some such but they make you go through hell to change it back. In India the school certificate has a higher power over the birth certificate. But we wanted his birth certificate, school certificate AND passport to reference the same birthdate before he came here to avoid problems in the future. We even had to go to court for over a year to get a court order to demand that the education board change it back to the original date. Well he got the order in August and filed for our K1 in Sept (killing two birds with one stone) but still had to jump through hoops to get the updated form. To make the long story short, 3 months later after the court order he just got word that the updated certificate is on it's way to him right now. He should have it in a few days. That's beaucracy for you. Then he can fix his passport birthdate and his side is done! Soon only the Immigration side left which is a big relief to us.

OK, Maybe I have some good news for me too. I have been posting about my expedite request, just in case anyone else is in a similar situation - hopefully it will help them too.

I called USCIS again - same basic story (nothing), but I got the lady to look into my expedite request - she said she couldn't actually look into it becuase it just leaves their system and is tracked at the service center, but if she put in another expedite request, she could see if one was pending or not. So she found the first one, it said an email and phone call was made to me on 11/18/08 - neither of which I received. Basic contents was a request for evidence of my situation. So if anyone has in a request, maybe they are showing something as done, but you never got the information - I suggest you follow up and keep pushing (politely of course - remember, while we get upset with the people we are talking to, they are just doing their job and probably have limited control of the situation).

So, the good news is, even though I actually got no response, I was able to get information and sent in additional information. Hopefully I will get a good response soon.

Ouch ...its -8 (celcius) in the hallways of my school right now! And my fiance is worried about me moving to Colorado. Still no snow here, but I heard it has snowed in other places here in Korea.

Only 1 week and 1 day left before I get to go visit my sweety. I can't wait. But my life is suddenly chaos.

A short history: I am a South African living and working in Korea for the last 6 years. I work as a teacher on 1 year contracts. We have been debating since we filed if I should sign another contract or not. (I can do a 6 month contract.) Since the processing time seems steady at 4-5 month to get a NOA2 we have decided to hedge out bets. I have signed a 6 month contract, but I am packing everything up and leaving it at my brother's house. If its stays like that I will not go back to work (luckily I have a friend who will either step into my job, or - since its a high turnover time - just find a different school, I dont want to leave my kids without a teacher) We really dont want me stuck in a contract for 3-4 months after I have my visa. This last 3 months appart was bad enough. SO instead of a 6 week vacation with my sweety I might be there for 2 months or more untill my NOA2 arrives

Now I have to hope that the processing time stays about the same (or gets faster :D ) and that the Korean Embassy understands and accepts that I think of Korea as my home now and when I filed I honestly expected to be there working there at the interview time. (we had just checked the UCIS website and it said that a NOA2 would take at least 7 months)

So this weekend I will be packing my life into boxes ... I have a stack of about 20 boxes! Lets hope its enough :P
