The "soaring" debt isn't that bad when you compare it to the GDP. Clinton had it easy after the end of the Cold War and low gas prices. He didn't create either of those factors. Bush isn't a fiscal conservative but Obama is no Clinton with a Republican Congress. McCain has a track record of opposing earmarks and saying no. Obama doesn't except on a war in Iraq that is already winding down.

I don't have to. I lived through it. To you it's history that you have to google to attempt to understand. To me it's something that I lived through. Trust me, Carter was to blame for the economy of the late 70's and early 80's. You can cite revisionist economists you find on Google all you want but it doesn't change the facts.
