Sinong bata ba ang hindi malikot? Lahat ng bata basta nag terrible two na, malikot. My son did not have any idea what's going on. Sana lang magka anak sya para she would know how it feels. Sana lahat ng ginawa nya sa akin maranasan nya. But then again, I don't want to have any ill feelings but up to now, it is still affecting me.

You will be fine. Goodluck!

Then I saw one 500 peso bill and one 20 peso bill that my son put in the window. She raised both her hands and made a scene inside. She was kinda hysterical.

The consul was an idiot for going crazy like that. I would think a 520 peso bribe wouldn't get you a visa so she made herself look like a fool. Some the embassy employee seem to only care about getting a paycheck. They should realize they are messing up some peoples', living in a foreign country and making a bad impression of the U.S. government as well.

The funny thing is the hiring process for foreign service officers is very strict due to the high number of applicants. Only about 2% of people who take the test actually get a job offer. Hard to believe she was in the top 2% of anything.

Yeah very embarassing for her. At that moment, between me and her, she was the liar. I should have made her go under oath.

Wow, sorry for what you went through. But it also shows a very good reason for the USC petitioner to be present during the interview. It helps a lot both emotionally and also if these kinds of situations arise for the USC to ask for supervisor.

Goodluck with your life ahead and do try to forget that CO like a rotten wound.

wow  the first person interviewing you should find a job commensurate with her mental and emotional abilities - like flipping burgers.

Nah, she may go off the handle if a burger does not flip the way she wants it to flip or sticks to the grill. Maybe a mental place, in case she has a melt down, they dont have to take her far to the padded room

This is exactly why I am flying back for the interview this week. Michelle is very shy. I don't want to have something like this happen to her without me there to defend her. This woman should have been terminated on the spot. The scary thing is that people like this ultimately have our lives and futures in their hands, but don't seem to care. Maybe the embassy needs to re-assess their hiring and training practices in the future. People like this shouldn't be allowed to make decisions about other peoples lives. She's obviously got some serious mental issues to deal with. But anyway congrats on finally getting through the interview.

OMG, I would have strangled her just to get even! It's appalls me every time I hear stories about how pathetic and psycho the consuls in the US Embassy in Manila act. They are intelligent oh yes, flying colors for the IQ maybe, but lordy, the EQ is almost to a negative!!! It is insulting enough to be dealing with an ignorant b*tch, how much more a psycho... LOL

If you really can be with her during the interview, please do so. You never know what's going to happen. I've told my fiancee that I will be fine and that I can handle it so he can just save his money for our apartment. But he insisted and boy was I glad that he did! Im a very opinionated woman but at that point I just zipped my mouth as I might say something that would worsen the situation. Im a Filipino citizen wanting the fiancee VISA. You guys are US Citizens...you can say whatever you want to say and they will listen. As what my fiancee have said "I can't let her ruin my life just because she is having a bad day!" But I have to admit, my fiancee got "handsome points" from me. I felt like a damsel in distress who was rescued by my knight in shining armor! Ive never had anyone fought for me like that. So I will always remember that moment in my life. =)

So, Goodl luck Jon and Michelle!

when i had my interview there are some filipinas with their USC fiance/hubby. we noticed that they took long during the pre screeening and inside the room compare to the filipinos who goes by themselves only.

if i may suggest...dont show up to the CO or pre screener with ur USC partner UNLESS an emergency situation happens that needs the USC's presence.

Hi Ria, I'm glad that this is all over na for you and your son (F) . The conduct of the Consul was so unbecoming and she shouldn't be doing that kind of job if she freaks out easily. I hope she learned a lesson from this episode and will act accordingly on the forthcoming interviews she will be conducting.
