i 've been studying so much about the CR1 visa and what to do I have no idea what to expect after this point??? The Packet was sent to the consulate now we wait for a packet 3? Can I use the "short cuts" still and email the DS230 in now??? and if I do email it where do I send it they told me at NVC it is at the consulate and they have nothing left to do with it???

i have everything ready in hand except he needs his shots and medical. Any help and insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Rajaa

but Rajaa doesn't want the K3, she wants the CR1...

so are you telling me that your CR1 is LOST SOMEWHERE?? it can't be.. just wait for it to arrive at NVC. then go with LOTO's shortcuts. you can't mail the DS-3032 yet as your file hasn't reached NVC.

as for the K3, if they have given you the K3 interview date already, try to reschedule if you can at a later date to give the CR1 time to finish at NVC..

I-130 Timeline:

5/13 : NOA1

7/21 : NOA2 - APPROVED!!!

So follow K3, don't do anything till you get the packet 3, there's no such a thing as shortcuts....

There is such a thing as shortcuts with NVC. You can follow simultaneous paths for the AOS, and DS3032/DS230. Look here:

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/..._live_in_the_US

There is alot of good info in there about getting through NVC in 6-8 weeks. Maybe less.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

Hi Rajaa,

For a K-3, the embassy in Casa will contact your husband with the packet 3 information. He will need to get the documents on the checklist they provide him. The only shortcut is looking on their web-site or USICIS's website as to what they may request and having it ready when they contact you. My hubby needed a family extract (not a birth certificate) though.

Or, of course, you can wait the 90 days and see if the CR1 is received at NVC.

Hope that helps.

~Angie

PS... "thirdsjen": It *IS* possible for the CR1/IR1 to get lost....ours did! We were approved for both 130 and 129F (K3) on March 12, 2008 and the K3 arrived, but not the CR1, and it still, to this day, has not.

I have been told by Washigton headquaters of Homeland Security and USCIS that if I-130 and I-129F is approved at the same time, only the I-129F will now be forwarded to NVC unless the petitioner once receiving both approvals hard copies files a special form and pays a fee requesting the I-130 to be transferred to NVC. This is a new procedure since they are considering that to file for a K3 you must had already filled a CR-1 petition so if you file the I-129F you are automatically making the choice of a K3 visa.... you can call 202-272-8000 and verify the details as it seemed a little confusing for me...
