My I-130 got approved in only 21 days, for my wife and my step-daughter. We were going to pursue the 129f route and K3 route, but it seems things have changed now.

Seems the the CR-1 is not only optimal but nearly mandated at this point. And we are ok with that. But now we are in waters we did not expect. After recieving the NOA2 letter...how long before getting info for me(in the states0 and my wife(in the Philippines) from NVC?

Any idea how long we could ROUGHLY expect the approval of a CR-1? Does this type of VISA better suit our situation? We want out daughter to finish the school year there, so getting them here ASAP is not imperative. From my reading it seems 6-8 months for approval, does that sound right?

Also, does my step-daughter, who is 5 years old, ride on my wife's CR-1 or do she have one filed for her independently? Her biological father IS NOT on the birth certificate, nor has he been involved in ther life or offered a dime in financial support....will this cause any issues?

any info would be appreciated.

You will be able to speed up or slow down the process (to suit your step-daughter's school schedule) depending on how fast you return requested information to NVC. Have a good read and you will be able to determine how long you need with each stage.

Congratulations on the fast approval, you certainly have more luck in this waiting game.:-)

No, your step daughter cannot ride on your wife's CR1, you need to file a separate I-130 for her if you have not done so.

You might need a consent letter from the biological father to bring her to US at the interview stage, but since he is not her birth cert, that may not required?

They are mainlining caffeine over at CSC. That's the only explanation.

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter
