South Park is so 90s.

Anyway, I did like President Clinton's speech. I always enjoy watching him and boy, do I miss him. He was awesome when he was in office.

I'm still not sold on Obama but I've been thinking on the last 8 years and how much worse everything is in our country. Republicans have done a lot of damage to this country and if McCain doesn't shine next week, then I'll have no choice but to vote Obama this November.

I dunno Steve - you can present it as optimistically as you like, but I'm convinced it will come down, once again, to a "lesser of two evils" - with the Republicans being a known quantity over vague election promises about change and half-hearted proposals subtitled with "tax increase".

I also think that the next term of office, whoever wins, won't be a significant departure from what we have already.

I agree. I'm voting for who I'm voting for...but whoever wins, it won't affect my wife and I enough either way to make us want to up and move to Peru in the next four years. For most people in the US, I don't think who is elected in November will end up affecting their lives very dramatically at all. I just hope whoever gets in does what he can to help get the real estate and stock markets headed back upward.

Unfortunately, if McCain is elected and continues Bush's policies of cutting more and more funding for medical research I may be forced to seek a postdoc outside the USA when I finish my degree. Yet another reason to not go with the flow on this one. He does sound a little like Obama on that issue, though so it may not end up being an issue after all.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

As you are just back to posting Gary, I will not post what I was going to.

I will say this though Mr Jabberwocky - it is NOT a cakewalk (what is a cakewalk anyway?). The conservative message is a lot easier to sell to Joe American.

Go ahead, I was passing through. My days of endless arguments and dozens of new topics are over. It's obvious that the Nobama nuts think of him as some sort of a god and no amount of discussion will change that. I just had to comment on the starry eyed orgasms that our friend Steven was having. When I saw his post this is the first thing that came to mind. It describes him perfectly.

He came, he saw, he left (again).

Obama is smart. While smart doesn't guarantee success, stupidity does guarantee failure. If you need evidence, look at the last eight years.

The fact is that Clinton, despite his personal foibles, left the country better off than he found it. What if FDR had not had his affair but he'd lost the war?

Even if I hated the Democrat, I would vote for him/her anyway. The GOP cannot be rewarded for the past eight years.

Simply put: Bush. Worst. Ever

History is a harsh judge.

I guess the joke is on us voters then. We elected Bush out right the second time around after getting a taste of his medicine.
